If I recall correctly, that Destiny "mod" is not a traditional mod. It's an exploit that hasn't been fixed by Bungie yet. It had nothing to do with modifying the source files for the game.

I'm pretty sure both current-gen versions of the game run at the same res and frame rate.

Agreed, Gray Fox is one of my favorite MGS characters.

We're talking about $200 versus $2000 here. That's a no brainer if you're a fan of console exclusive games, but if you've got enough money to spend on a high-end gaming laptop like this, a console probably isn't something you're struggling to obtain.

I spent well over an hour completing the main mission the first time. The reason people complete it so quickly is because there's a leaderboard for that kind of thing.

This is true. Seems like the that high of a resolution would be most useful for something like VR.

You may want to read the post again, mate.

It's horribly sexist for a male writer to write about a character that they can relate to, like another male? And it's not sexist to put down a male writer for doing so? I think you need to reevaluate what's sexist and what isn't.

Thank you so much for this. There seems to be this overwhelming need from people nowadays in these kinds of cases where people think equality in this whole sexism debate should be equivalent to matching up the numbers of males and females. Matching these numbers just for numbers sake is not justice, whatsoever.

It's definitely in-engine. Maybe you haven't played or seen Ground Zeroes in action. It looks this good as well.

Well, I know 8K is already a thing, so people at least care enough to invest in that. But beyond that I don't see there being a point to increase resolution because nobody should be able to tell a difference. Hell, I don't even know if when 8K comes out people will even care.

The convenience of a device like that considering the performance would be what really sells it. But by then, PC gaming will have moved on to an even higher standard. Photorealistic graphics being pumped out at 8K resolution. You'll still have power users, it just depends on whose the minority at that point, I guess.

I've heard it's 90 degrees so far, but I don't believe that's final. Hopefully they'll expand it a bit for the final version.

I'm trying to say it's childish on ZeniMax's part to make a claim that they gave two shits about VR in the first place. The only time you saw anything in the press connecting VR and ZeniMax was the fact that John Carmack was working on VR while he was employed under id Software.

Let's hope the court abides by these parameters set forth by the Constitution when this is all said and done. This is all a greedy claim made by ZeniMax and should be handled accordingly.

I second everything you're saying here. Unfortunately, the NDAs Carmack signed under ZeniMax will probably make all of their claims valid, legally. Either way, it ends up looking like a childish move by a company that originally didn't have faith that VR was a viable investment.

In most of these claims, the mention of ZeniMax could be used synonymously with John Carmack's name. This, of course, does not make these claims legally invalid, but it still seems like a money grab by you know who.

I can understand when consumers get upset by NG charging full price for a re-release of one of their games. I can understand your disappointment with this fact. But it doesn't really bother me because of, what I consider, the level of quality and attention to detail put into the game. I'll pay for that amount of

I think you may be missing the point. The purpose of this article is to inform the unknowing of the complexity involved in porting a game built utilizing an engine that was implemented specifically to take advantage of the Cell and its SPUs to an x86 architecture.

If you say so, good sir. Agree to disagree. :)
