Agreed.

I've been considering it so I can have some decent driving dynamics in a daily with the flexibility to take the kids to school on the way to work if I need to.

Eventually it gets to be a pain to drive around a sports car every day if you have to help out and pick up kids and junk. Just because a guy drives around a minivan doesn't mean he can't have another car. You say that people wanting a Mazda 5 or concerned with boy racer image but it seems image is the only thing

Minivans are actually really comfortable and soak up bumps much better than SUVs and crossovers. Also Tahoes are still like $40k. If you had to actually load human beings into a vehicle yourself and all the luggage crap that goes with them you'd understand the packaging of a minivan and why it's ok to just grow up and

The Colorado and Canyon will be getting diesel. Granted they aren't very small but neither is the small truck segment anymore.

If they sold a BRG ND people would flip.

You sure all of those have three rows? On top of that those things cost way more and use way more gas and all drive worse than something based on a car platform, especially one that drives as well as the Mazda 3 does. Look maybe you don't have the same needs as a dad and that's fine but you shouldn't hate a car that

I definitely think the ND will sell better than the NC did but I don't know if we'll ever see similar sales to the NA and NB models again.

Ditto, just because they're the only ones who've turned it up to 11. I'd love to see any of the other guys put way too much power through all 4 wheels. This could be the hot new rally bro segment.

Just so you know they're watching you.

Well I don't know if you realize this but most vehicles that hold more than 5 people aren't very sexy to begin with. I'd gladly take a reliable japanese hatchback turned into a minivand with decent gas mileage and a manual transmission compared to my other choices.

Yes, it's hard to get excited about another compact crossover. I feel ya. The whole segment gets a deservedly bad rap for a growing parade of sales-chasing mediocrity. With the lone exception of the Nissan Juke, which is getting so long in the tooth it has tusks, the rest of the competition is as inspiring as first

That's true the weight gain also kept people away but I think more people would have bought new if the old ones were as reliable as their British forefathers.

BRG is actually rare and pricey all throughout the Miata range.

If I ever get the right opportunity to buy a clean manual Mazda 5 I will probably jump on it and use it as my daily/occasional autocross warrior.

That's one point but these didn't even sell that well when brand new. Honestly I'm not convinced the ND will sell well yet either. I hope it will but I don't know.

This is the ultimate dadmobile. Totally invisible with at least ninety percent of the capability of a Mazda 3. A speed version would have been awesome.

The Mazda 5 is basically a Mazda 3 for dads. I love them since they are barely bigger than the 3.

The answer is always Miata. Seriously, nobody buys NCs and as much as I have high hopes for the ND I doubt it's sales will take off too much either. Just too many reliable fun NA and NB models out there still running for very little money.

Just reminded again how much I love my Chromecast. Watching cars on YouTube is so much better on a big screen.
