Belive me, I know. The Halo books are usually pretty bad, but there’s some gems in the rough. The first five or so are solid entries into the canon (The Fall of Reach, First Strike, and Ghosts of Onyx are essential reading for fans), the short story collection Evolutions has some really entertaining stories (namely Par

Dual wielding was poorly implemented. You had plenty of good combos, such as the SMG and pistol, but in order to make them good, you needed both weapons, and basic actions like swapping weaponry or using melee would automatically drop the weapon in your offhand. It was a clunky system that didn’t work very well, hence

Halo 5 was on of the first big games of this generation to embrace the “games as a service model”, but didn’t get a lot of attention due to games like R6 Siege and Overwatch getting a lot more traction in 2016. This re-review, I’d wager, is making up for that.

It was Bonnie Ross, not Nelson.

Halo 5's weapon balance really is the best it’s ever been in any Halo game. There’s not a single gun that I’d consider unviable, whereas in previous Halo titles there were plenty of guns that were straight-up trash (like Reach’s assault rifle or Halo 2's magnum).

You could always... read the books.

I don’t see any problem with it. It’s nonspecific.

Can you stop writing about the petty little shithead bully that is Keem? He’s the epitome of toxic gamer culture and the last thing he needs is recognition, however positive or negative.

Epic said that if there was a way to release Fortnite on iOS to circumvent the app store, they would have.

That’s disgusting, but like, in a cool, good way.

White men are always going to label something that challenges them to question their privilege as “pushing an agenda”. It’s how they roll.

“No, no, it needs to be less clear.”
“Legs will freak you out?”
“Less clear than that!”
“You will freak out?”
“STILL TOO CLEAR!”
“Freak out?”
“PERFECT!”

Toads don’t have defined ears or bony claws on their feet.

I stand corrected. It’s been a while since I played STW on console; I played it a few times there, got sick of the controls, and switched over to PC for the remappable keybinds. I’m glad Builder Pro is on console now, though.

Amusingly enough, it was just nerfed minutes ago, along with the SMG and suppressed SMG. It’s not a cataclysmic nerf, either; the guns are all still strong, just not mind-numbingly broken.

That’s good, but it’s from just over a month ago. Constant communication in your patch notes is good for retaining the health of your game, not every couple weeks.

BR clearly evolved beyond STW with its building meta; even if they both have the same foundation, the comparison really is apples and oranges, given the fast pace of BR versus STW.

The trap nerf was warranted. 75 is good for how concealable those traps can be. Community outcry from that nerf only really occurred due to the fact that a challenge to eliminate a player with a trap came out the same week as the patch that nerfed them, meaning folks were ranting about how difficult it was (when it

I don’t know what Epic is doing behind the scenes, but I wish they could share their reasons for why these nerfs are made. It’s not a good look for them to just keep nerfing building without saying a word. I don’t hate these nerfs, either; I just think their inclusion with v5.10 alongside the Compact SMG was a really,

Virtual surround sound is pretty bad for gaming. It reduces the overall audio quality of stereo headsets, and is more of a compromise on stereo audio in an attempt to give the illusion of true surround sound.
