It's because it was published in the Japan app store and then marked international, which puts it down on the sort order in the US store. We want that to happen otherwise a million crappy chinese apps would flood our search results.

I fixed this by not using that piece of shit software called skype. There are so many better chat apps out there (text and video). Stop propagating that piece of junk, please.
I had no idea there was a race towards something no one wants.
spend less time bitching about what you hear about patents, and more time actually readying patents (especially the "rounded corners" one which was falsely reported here)
Passbook is very popular. Catching on very quickly... considering how lame we all thought it was.
We are skewed on tech blogs because we want specs. Normal people don't. They want something that's easy to use, and feels great. So far Apple has made no compromises in that department. We may be Geeks with Geek perspectives, unfortunately we are still a purchasing minority in consumer electronics, and Apple will…
Where does apple proclaim inventing it? You also know that apples run on intel chips and shared technology, right? Why does every apple product have to be fought at by geeks who know that one feature is used by another company?
ahhh... the "because hipster" reasoning...
READ THE PATENT. It defines the shape of the ipad with rounded corners, smooth back, glass top, apple-button placement, touch screen. I know people love to jump all over apple and the patent system, but it's a pretty fair awarding of a patent. It is not a patent on rounded corners or rounded corner tablets. It is a…

I gave Sparrow a go for a good 6 months and it was such a nice-looking, but unreliable piece of crap, I am not surprise that they constantly get rejected and have to adjust their code.
My favorite memory was when I bought Xoom Tablets for all the employees as a gift (and a way to empty the year-end budget) and I dreamed of our office being productive by checking e-mail anywhere and using portable apps.
It's not melting. That's the just liberal media controlled the evil multi-quadrillion dollar weather prediction industry just wants you to think.
Outside of the US, it's built into the OS (not here because of antitrust). It's actually a pretty nice chat software.
Agreed. The lack of features and the peer-live dependency makes it the worst chat software I have every used. I have no idea why it's popular now that most chat software can do video chat. Live messenger trumps skype as a chatting software.
Yet another "Giz tries to justify piracy" article.
When one creates music that millions can enjoy, one does not have the right to enjoy millions of dollars?
