I dislike oversized trucks as much as the next person, however, I think this is a terrible idea/argument. Yes, some are so big it borders on unsafe, and they’re often driven by total douche canoes, but if you say people can’t drive them for other than work purposes because it’s unnecessary, then you open that

Very few people, including most jalopnik.com writers and readers, buy the vehicle they need. They buy the vehicle they want to and can (sometimes) afford. Nobody needs a BMW, Tesla, sports car, Jeep, roadster or any other car any of us would like to own. They all need a camry or a Grand Caravan. Or really just a bus

I am glad I am not the only person with interest in the 318ti.

Yeah, I don’t get the hate either. The 316i is the slow-poke of the family (yet still a very enjoyable car to drive). The 318ti with 140hp is sufficiently powered and a very, very fun car.

There’s something to be said about having a lighter motor in the front end of your car. And being able to have a lot of fun and park it pretty much anywhere (Golf GTI?). I have one and it’s a blast to drive. You can drive it at it’s limit and not get yourself in trouble.

I hate it when people say torques.
