Magic: The Squandering

The worst part, for someone with a rooting interest, is not that they lost, but that I get to hear this every year for the rest of my life when a 1 seed plays a 16 seed or every time UVA plays in the tournament. “WELL, WE ALL REMEMBER THE DEBACLE FROM 2018 JEEM.”

12th man hates 13th amendment.

I like the NBA having a team in New Orleans. It’s a great city and I think it could grow into being a really good fanbase. The problem is that they haven’t had a team worth rooting for.

Or get him some teammates who matter!

I like to think about the split-second confidence it takes to let a big, fast professional basketball player get a head of steam going toward the rim, believing you can recover in time to prevent yourself from getting put in his career highlight reel. I don’t have that much confidence doing anything. I don’t have that

A big shout-out to Joel Meyers, the Pelicans’ play-by-play guy. On a nightly basis he is one of the very most enjoyable play-by-play guys working in the NBA, and his gradually crescendoing reactions to Davis’s blocks were one of the most fun things about yesterday’s action.

Yeah, I’m really depressed about Boogie.

I have it on good authority that thousands of Muslims will be celebrating in New Jersey...

Sir, I may not agree with the precise aesthetic in which you couched your expression of the same opinions I broadly hold, but I will defend to the death your right to be paid mid-six figures to say it without ever facing the approbation of college students

Because, theoretically, the seasons in which they could earn the most from their performance (mid to late 20's) they are being vastly UNDERpaid. They are young, talented, and getting better. Now, because of the ridiculous amount of time the teams control these players, and teams are keeping purposely keeping players

I just find it odd that you would wholeheartedly accept the owner’s framing of a labor dispute, without knowing any of the details of the offers made or rejected (because none of us know), rather than saying “my team should pay for the available all star level players and I don’t care if Mr. WhoCaresWhatHisNameIs

I would add French Quarter Fest as a great time to go if you want to try food. Many of the restaurants in town set up tents throughout the Quarter and serve miniature versions of some of their most popular dishes. No admission (at least as of 5 years ago, the last time I went, there wasn’t one). Multiple stages with

Every time someone likes to paint the left as whiny bitches for complaining about something in the media, I like to point out that the right is just as whiny, but about different issues. Made fun on Jesus? Boycott! Pro-abortion POV? Boycott!

New Orleans is not part of the the South. New Orleans is actually part of the North....the North Caribbean. Once you understand that, the culture, the people, the food, and the history will all make more sense and you will enjoy the city much much more.

To no one’s surprise, New Orleans is a great food city. Some of my favorites (mostly in the Quarter):
