Yah, it's a very un-Doctorly thing to do, using the magic door. Even this time around, everybody's warning about time crumbling as a result of the time line not being put right… and um, nothing particularly seems to be happening. Now that you mention it, it does seem like a Moffat indulgence. But yeah, Clara has to go

I thought Clara dodging death, and then only having to reassert her acceptance of that death had the potential to be repetitive. But it wasn't. In fact, her assertion of accepting that death a second time through is only more poignant and intense because she (and we) can see the suffering the Doctor has gone through

Yah, I figured that was likely the case. I always delve into the compilations before the regular albums too. Do you think they'll go for this new thing the same way?

I always like "For Your Consideration" at AV Club. Generally, it takes a position contrary to the general consensus about pop culture and pushes back a little. "FYC" isnt' always right (The Second Star Wars trilogy was genius?) but it's usually a good read.
But in this case, I'm unclear to what the starting point was

You… you're putting way too much science into this. I can't disagree with any of your points, but the review takes pains to point out how "cartoonish" the dinosaurs appear. It's a cartoon. A "cartoon." I was about to say something about a bunch of pictures played back one after the other so that the illusion of

Keyword there is "pretends." In fact, they all rush home and blog about it.

There's actually no outrage here, just speculation that outrage is imminent. Because, y'know, the ad campaign is bold and is thus bound to outrage somebody now that it's been brought to our attention.

I wanna put this in a better historical time frame… He got the HIV diagnosis in 2011, and wasn't it near the end of that same year that he went completely insane, ditched his show and went on a bender for several months? Wow… that kinda puts all that into a different perspective.

Hrm. This episode left me unhappy. The bouncy camera work made me keep wanting to look away. And I'm glad it was worked into the story and not just idiot-old found footage work, but it didn't help with the coherence of the story.

I sorta think it's the very numerous baby boom generation, not teenagers so much that keeps SNL on the air. I think it doesn't take a lot of ratings to maintain SNL's life support in the first place, and it's often seemed to me that they continue to play to the same damn audience they had in the 70s.

Couple of things:
I suspect SNL is still the hawtest thing on earth to the generation it was created for— namely, my parents and the baby boomers. They grew up thinking it was hip, political and smart, whereas everyone since then grew up thinking it was wildly inconsistent at best, and kinda lame at worst.

"Is that really the same old 1973 Oldsmobile Delta 88? Or does Raimi just keep buying new ones for each film? What’s the deal?"

and what? Blowing up Aldaraan, y'know… just to intimidate an uncooperative dignitary isn't evil?

Naw, that's not a failing. I can appreciate the comfort of an absolute number. But I mean, a 10% difference, don't your tastes or mood come more into play?

I don't think most patrons of the Tomatometer would make a big difference between a 75 and 85% rating. If I was choosing between two films with those numbers, I'd think they were both fairly well reviewed without being a rave or a dud and then I'd choose what I was in the mood for.

This is such a mess.

Been there. A subreddit post from "Debbie" discussing Adnan's "possessiveness" is not a legitimate source. Nor does it speak to any real "abuse" as you claim. Now, if you have something else… provide a link, not a vague direction to go looking.

Wait…what?

My problem with Travis' pacifism is that us viewers already know the reality of that. We've seen "The Walking Dead." We even had this particular issue "Are they dead or are they sick" hashed out (thoroughly) back at Hershel's farm in season 2. It is realistic for a character or two to have this line of thinking early

A bunch of unrelated thoughts:
Travis and his thinking that the infected are just sick is a dramatic hole that can't be filled. Viewers already know all this. Heck, we experienced that particular line of thinking back at Hershel's farm years ago. It plays realistically that somebody would be thinking this way right
