The girlfriend and I are carving pumpkins tonight, and I had to stay on brand.
The DFL Show Has a Contest! That’s right, my podcast with Bradley Brownell, Eric Rood, Duncan Ende, and our very own Stef Schrader has a contest! We are giving away a pair of Hunziker driving shoes, and all you have to do is shower us with fan creations! Go! Enter!
Thanks again to Ayan from Torque Affair for an amazing morning through the Hill Country
More automotive references then you could shake a stick at, and a beat that is all classic Daft Punk. What more could you want?
I’m interviewing Bruno in an hour and a half from this going live. Any questions?
I’m covering the Lone Star LeMans weekend for Hooniverse, so I have settled down next to the lumps (And Kurt) in the media center. Anything you want to see covered specifically? I like highlighting the weirder side of racing, and track life, so anything is fair game.
So as some of you might know, I was invited by TMG to go and check out their factory and go to the Ring for a lap in their GT-86 cup. I talk more about it on my podcast, the DFL show, but I figured this image would be a nice little preview before my other articles go up!
Well kids, I have about 5 days until my press trip to Germany to hangout with the Toyota Motorsports folks for Hooniverse and my podcast The DFL Show! I figured I would open this up to all of you to try to get a good sense of what readers actually want to know from these teams.
“Sure we can fit you in” - dude on the phone
I’m crushed for the Toyota boys and girls. Still in disbelief at the whole thing. Never seen LeMans be so cruel before.
Should be a load of fun. The kind people over at Texas Motor Speedway were nice enough to grant me press access even after I missed the (unposted) deadline. Trying to line up some time with Alex Rossi and Conor Daly since I’ve worked with them before.
Well, TTAC and I are done as of today. That was a terrible thing to wake up to. Oh well. More opportunities in the future.
The Miata is going well, TTAC is quickly feeling like a site I can work at for a long time, and I have completed all of my outstanding freelance work. I think I am going to reward myself with a long walk downtown.
Some legendary street cars, some classic race cars, and a whole field of 458 Challenge cars. Combine that with some amazing access curtesy of Ferrari and I am a very happy boy. You should also start seeing my byline in more places starting this week.
Too often I feel like this hobby is toxic. Moments like this, and cars like this help make everything feel a tad more real and good.
Three weeks or so in and I am still in love. I wrote something about it for Hooniverse that I will share on here when that goes up. Combine the lovely new car with a good uptick in freelancing work and I’m pretty happy.
