That's what people who don't upgrade say. I was one of them. I finally upgraded to the new iPad and it's changed how I work more than the original iPad. The integrated dictation feature is incredible. Once I learned how to speak to it (easier than when I learned to type), it made my Macs feel cumbersome. Now each

@ napilopez – Windows 8 has been tested for months as a replacement OS for laptops... and the results have been mixed. That says nothing about how Windows 8 will perform on a touch-screen with multi-touch apps (if there are any). The Windows trackpad experience to date has been poor, so it doesn't inspire confidence

@ Zerathos – Yes, and look how many tablet PCs Microsoft sold. The concept was right, the Windows-centric execution was fatal.

Adrian – I'm not a Microsoft hater/troll and i agree with most of what you wrote. Microsoft is undergoing a change that looks very interesting.

Nonsense. One example: thanks to Apple I don't use a keyboard for 75% of my text input, I dictate it. Including this post. Embedded dictation is a lot more interesting to me than a keyboard case that regresses a tablet into a laptop. I'm not talking about dictation apps (no thank you), I'm talking about

"Keep watching till the end, pass the 0:33 mark."

Was it the crashing or the lack of specs and pricing information that caught your attention?

Don't forget no pricing info. Microsoft is trying to be like Apple and is doing a really bad job of it. These tablets were not ready for the event, as evidenced by the lack of stability and pricing info.

That was my first question too. How many weeks before Logitech releases an iPad version?

Linux is *barely* more advanced than DOS and Windows 3.5 on the user side. Screw Linux... keep going, Nvidia... you're doing an awesome job.

The Android version of the App is just like the iOS version, except uglier.

XPad would be cool.

He deserves 15 years for being so stupid. He had access to $1.5M and he chose to give it to casinos. Did he really think he was a brilliant gambler who only needed a stake to make it big? I hate stupidity like that and I hate that it is allowed to vote (and breed). People should have to pass a test to demonstrate

So... arguably about 50% of the interaction with a laptop/desktop is via the pointing/dragging device (trackpad or mouse). You report that the trackpad sucks, so 50% of the experience sucks unless you want to give up all the benefits of gestures and regress to a 'last-gen' mouse interface. Did I get that right?

Wait 'till the fall. iMac updates coming. Don't go down the path of a Frankenstein configuration.

Nevermind. Robert Gs comment is a better way and more reasoned way of expressing my frustration with people who feel that Linux is a good choice for the desktop. it just isn't. It rocks on servers but is so limited as a desktop OS.

I bet pencil-protector fans everywhere are wetting their pants over this innovation. Seriously, these things look really bad.

New iMacs are coming. i-Mac sized retina display will be expensive. Start saving now.

I agree. Religious doctrine is all about oppression and control. It can't tolerate people questioning "Why are we following these silly rules" because that would open the door to a lot more fundamental questions about the value and purpose of religion in general, which by the way has nothing to do with personal

*Tallest*, not *largest* building. Not by a long shot.
