I didn’t even notice the Metroid Dread shade until people pointed it out, this mis-genre-ing was actually the first thing I noticed. I thought an absolute requirement of “Metroidvania” was side-scrolling. Strange review all around.

Let’s see here... So we have a time limit mechanic. Yeah fuck that. Hmm what else? Ah, back of the box quote, “For people who really love grief.” Nope nope nope nope nope nope.

Crime of passion. He wasn’t thinking and didn’t do the math, because obviously he would’ve known that his own life was over after committing double murder.

It’s getting worse too. We had an incident here in California where a woman flipped a guy off in traffic so he decided the proportionate response was to take out his gun and shoot into her car. The shot killed her very young child.

Ali Nassar Abulaban isn’t white.

Different cops, but the ones in Florida decided not to even keep an eye on Brian Laundrie when he returned home after his girlfriend was reported missing. There are also countless stories about mass gun murderers who go on their sprees after every single warning sign is observed and pointed out to them. The system

I haven’t read every article or comment on all of this, but in what I have read I haven’t seen anyone suggest talking to the actual affected parties about how we, as consumers, can support their efforts to change the policies and behavior that permitted the abuse. It’s always just, “Well I’m gonna boycott because

One thing I’ve noticed is how fast these things go on sale. You can bet that within 30 days there will be a sale on Far Cry 6. Maybe $10 off to start, chop off another $10 for Black Friday/Xmas. If you’re really OK to wait you can practically steal it in a year.

The medieval stuff is something they had when I was a kid that’s gone largely ignored up until the Medieval Blacksmith that came out recently. Sure, we’ve had “castles” from various properties but not a proper medieval one. I’m hoping they expand that line even though I have literally zero space for them.

Hyrule Castle is important, obviously, but it’s not something I necessarily think of when I think of Legend of Zelda. If you’re talking about things that just make you “feel” a property then Cinderella’s Castle, Avengers Tower, Castle Grayskull — things like that really stand out as representative of their properties.

So I just recently got stuck with no idea where to go next and had to reference IGN’s walkthrough. I hate having to do that, but come to find out I had missed a breakable fucking block in one area that I had already explored and that ended up being the pathway to Kraid.

Yes. I’m stuck everywhere. I’ve already run into a couple situations where I have no idea how to progress and no indication of what to do/where to go. The map is very daunting and there’s no way to know what you need to do next beyond the extremely brief prompts that your computer thing gives you.

I miss that feature too. It was just so smart to create that system instead of the pain of grinding it out on random encounters. They still to this day won’t let you actually see the EV numbers but at least it’s better than it used to be.

Probably partly because they’d have to build that system and it’s of precisely zero benefit to them to do that. So until some company decides that that system provides a competitive advantage, we’re all stuck futilely/frantically clicking on an “Add To Cart” button with 300,000 other people.

According to Sony, selections are based on a mixture of available supply and decided by “previous interests and PlayStation activities,” which sounds a little sinister.

While I don’t compete much, I love competitive as well. What’s fun for me about the game is breeding Pokemon with good stats and putting together a team I really like. Any time I would look at suggested movesets and see Hidden Power in there I would just groan and think of an attack I liked better. It was just one of

EV training isn’t that bad, but I can see how people look at it and say “fuck that” because I used to myself. I can’t remember which gen had the mechanic where you did it “visually” through a little mini-game vs. grinding it out on mobs, but that finally sold me on it. The later games have made it a little bit more

Limiting experience share makes the game far more grindy, which is also less fun for (I would guess) the vast majority of players. The reason it’s so easy is really because you enter battles with six Pokemon while your opponents typically have no more than three and the trash mobs on Route 2 only have a Weedle and a

I realize that humor is subjective (and stand-up sometimes especially so), but I still think the guy is incredibly funny and cutting edge and not even the least bit generic. Tim Allen could never.

It really is. I was having a little more luck last night and I was actually trying, but it’s still not the best.
