Actually, no. That's a common (and dangerous) misconception. The point of life isn't to reproduce, but to ensure the survival of one's genetic material. There's a huge difference, and the fact that you do not know this means you're seriously under qualified for this discussion.

If reproducing was the sole purpose of a

Awesome to have bi role models in power!

She is! And it's refreshing to see a belly that has stretch marks.

There's nothing wrong with her body, that's how a 47 year old body looks, if you're lucky and have very, very good genes. Why people should continue the myth that beautiful = young I don't know. Because as a species our window of youth is relatively small, and we'll be old far longer than young. That's a long time to

Yup, that's what bodies do after you've had two babies and lived for 40+ years. The fucked-up part is that airbrushing is so routine that we don' t know what mature women are supposed to look like.

Oregonian here. I love Kate Brown! She's been a terrific public servant for years. I voted for Kitz twice (didn't live here during his other terms) and I will vote for (Governor) Brown in 2016. I predict she will do a fucking bang-up job. Hooray!

ugh the subway yoga may thing pissed me off so much.

Some guy at a party once tried to tell us all that merpeople were real because he saw a documentary about it. When we IMDBed his documentary and it was clearly labeled a mockumentary, he scoffed, "IMDB is no more reliable than Wikipedia." True story.

"There's a truly bizarre strain of anti-intellectualism running through both ends of the political spectrum, fostered by people who instinctively distrust anything beyond their immediate comprehension"

there's a good chance you'll be swirling secretions from a beaver's anal glands around in your mouth.

Yes, she's terrible. She's promoting a "natural diet" of foods, all while deceiving her readers into believing they're free of chemicals, even though all these so-called "foods" are made of potentially toxic chemicals like water, proteins, starches, sugars, and oils.

Now playing

"there is no acceptable level of any chemical to ingest, ever"

non traditional in the established hetero normative view. Not my opinion, only bringing to light an inescapable reality of a great many people.

As always, when an LGBT person becomes the first anything, some straight folks will say "Why is this news? Who cares?". To have an openly bisexual governor is a BFD. When bisexuals are told regularly (by gay & straight folks) that their sexual orientation makes them untrustworthy and indecisive, to have out bisexuals

thanks for that. I never meant to imply she had a side piece, just that obviously they have found a way to have an apparently very successful mon-traditional marriage. No offense intended.

I think you are correct. Bisexuals in same sex relationships seem to get accused of being gay but closeted, and bisexual people in opposite sex relationships seem to be accused of "growing out of a phase". Some of this may be specific to the community though, I'm sure there are groups/communities that are more

I think I must have misunderstood your comment, because her sexual identity isn't erased or less valid because she's married to a man. She would absolutely "count," as you put it, as a bisexual woman, regardless of whether she is in a LTR with a man or a woman.

This is why Taylor Swift annoys me. Her whole schtick is like, "Look at what a dork I am!" but she is literally indistinguishable from her supermodel best friend. I know everyone here loves her, so... Lo, a dissenter.

See, THIS should've been the style video. They look amazing in this shoot.

Maybe we shouldn't set ourselves up as arbiters of who is more deserving to win, but damn if I'm not gonna do it anyway. This lady had to work some really crappy jobs to make ends meet and has a child with special needs whose life is going to be made so much better now. It's almost like the universe is trying to
