That’s fair and I agree. Would I have voted to okay him? No. Am I going to immediately declare that Elizabeth Warren is a fake progressive. No. Do I hope that people extend Cory Booker the same courtesy (for a far less high-stakes vote made for a far more understandable reason)? Yes.

I can only assume (hope?) they are backing him because they have bigger fish to fry in terms of the cabinet nominees (like they’ve made a deal that they’ll back him if so-and-so doesn’t back someone else?). This still feels like a betrayal, but there are worse cabinet picks, imo.

I hope this is a reminder to everyone on the left that we pick and choose our battles, and that symbolic votes/victories don’t really matter. Carson was going to be confirmed anyway, she’d do better to stake a big, big fight on Puzder, whose future is far less certain in my eyes.

You know what drives me absolutely insane about right wing politicians. They don’t understand that when you are elected you represent all people in their district- not just people that voted for you.

It’s like they don’t even realize (or more likely, care) that many of the marchers were men.
