Looks like they finally gave Reeve Carney some RANGE to explore. That, alone, excites me. A criminally underdeveloped & underused character.

Ok, so this actually doesn't look half-bad, but why-oh-why does it look like it was shot on a 5D ???
The trailer stars: two fairly-recognizable actors; one has a funny "bad" haircut, & the other a generic but clearly carefully-styled Hollywood coif. To say I'm skeptical at this point is an understatement.
I was thinking as I was watching this episode this morning that, if by some stroke of genius / luck, Louie Anderson is nominated for best supporting actor, most people who aren't at all familiar with the show might mistake it (specifically as they show the clip up on the big screen) for a kind of second-rate copy of…
I couldn't agree more. I love Scorsese & I love Winter & I love Jagger — but the show is yet ANOTHER about a drug-(specifically-coke-)addicted, womanizing, conflicted, business 'genius,' with a perverted sense of moral judgment, & how he interacts with a world with which he is at times in perfect-sync, & at others,…
You've always been able to say any word; the self-censorship was rooted in implicitly appeasing sponsors, but as basic cable has elevated itself to the level of subscription cable, the sponsors seem to care less & less.
Soooo, Sacha Baron Cohen is doing Werner Herzog's voice ? Is that the whole character ? The Herzog voice ?
For an extraordinarily-expensive & meticulously-detailed affair, what was with the ABYSMAL dubbing ?? Was it done last-minute to fix things after shoddy test-screenings (or maybe confusion) ? There were moments throughout where words didn't match lips, or the quality of the voice (as in: where it was recorded)…
This is literally the strangest thing I've ever seen in a movie trailer. Simply baffling. Turtlenecks, up to her earlobes ! Even if bathroom scenes ! What the hell ..?
Beautiful episode. Apparently Samuel D. Hunter, who wrote this (&, I think, the next) episode, is a playwright who was awarded a Macarthur Genius Grant. Surprised I'd never heard of him; I'm super intrigued about his work now, as this was easily the best-written, & most thoroughly-balanced episode yet.
Oh no. I love Danny McBride (most of the time), & I know that Ridley Scott didn't direct ALIENS, butttt please tell me he's not going to be playing the sleazy slimy Paul Reiser-type in COVENANT.
Oh whoa, the little kid from ROOM (Jacob Tremblay), played the fourth kid (the one who — spoiler alert — Freaky Fridayses into Trump).
That's actually not exactly accurate. While of course neither discredits the other, there were many many cases where, because of the influx of Satanic Panic-style cases, the children's descriptions of their assaults (masked men; dark rooms; strange sounds; weapons; strange phrases; castles & mansions; etc) were…
Not that it's really relevant to this review, but a great deal of that SATANIC PANIC stuff from the UK in the 70s, 80s & 90s turned out to be true, except less SATANIC than…well, politicians (including members of Thatcher's inner circle) & celebrities (Jimmy Saville, who raped hundreds himself, including adults as old…
A fun lil treat for Scott Walker fans: the "musicians" scene from POLA X.
Wait, AA "There Are More 'A's in My Name Than I Give in a Month" Dowd gave a B- to TOMMOROWLAND ???
It probably has a lot to do with Jonathan Krisel, who is a co-creator, Executive Producer, & directs/writes various episodes of BASKETS, & held all of those positions on TIM & ERIC AWESOME SHOW, CHECK IT OUT! WITH STEVE BRULE, & pretty much everything else Tim & Eric have been a part of for a while now. (He also…
I haven't seen it, so I don't know why, but I get a weird feeling in my gut than in like four or five years, this movie will get re-appraised as "underrated."
I haven't really cared much about cars since I was in middle school, but watching this I couldn't help but wonder: what the hell happened to cars ?? Why does almost every contemporary car look exactly the same / like a glossy spaceship ?
The shrewd & unexpected brilliance of casting Louie Anderson is up there with John C. Reilly as Dr. Steve Brule. What's the opposite of "diminishing returns" ? "Exponentially-increasing returns" ? "Swelling returns" ?
