My 1st fun car was a 240SX. As a brand new driver it was a great car to learn to drive in. No ABS, TCS, or STM but had all the basic powered assists steering, brakes, locks, windows, sunroof.

I don’t think I got to comment on this. My first fun car was also my first car, a 72 MGB, which I got in 1984 and sold in 1985 or early 1986. I’d love to have another! Thanks to a perverse mental storage system and frequent parts ordering, I still know that car’s VIN: GHNUC289671.

These are great! - I started with a 89' 5.0 Mustang at 16 in 1999 and really don’t consider that “fun” because it broke down about 62% of the time due to “performance modification” by, again, a 16 year old.

I loved my Suzuki Sidekick 4 door because it was compact, simple, and looked great. While there are plenty of compact SUVs out there, the Sidekick had an actual low range 4WD system and was very capable offroad.

One of my HS classmates owned a Plymouth TrailDuster, which was a badge engineered Dodge Ramcharger and Plymouth’s only ever SUV.

Easy answer is the Xterra.
