Mitsubishi should bring the Montero back to the states. Make a bare bones, super capable off roader and maybe include a luxury trim too because they sell well. Bare bones for the enthusiasts and luxury versions for the mall crawlers.

Bring back the BRAT!!! And it better have a stick, t-tops, and jump seats in the bed!!!

First car that driving was the primary concern? The bogan hate machine.

He purchased a Volvo C40 Recharge EV but wanted to get rid of it after only a few months of ownership due to technical problems; the infotainment screen and backup camera would randomly cut out and the car would make a loud screeching noise when reversing.”

All of my cars have been fun. <shrug> My first real car was an ‘82 Subaru GL 4dr, handed down from my Grandmother in ‘86 when I got my license. 5spd, mighty 1.8L’s of flat-four fury. Beat the ever-loving-piss out of that poor thing and had a grand time doing it. Sold it to my first college roommate and bought a ‘76

Lots of people think of the positive impact of the Model T only… it certainly was an important industrial and societal milestone - that can’t be denied. But It can be that and really bad.

And the standard control layout that we went on to use is not the one Ford tried to push with the Model T. It was a bad layout that was counterintuitive even at the time. It was just so cheap that people were prepared to overlook it.

My first fun car was an ‘86 Merkur XR4Ti.

The XR4Ti, with a 2.3l Turbo at @175hp and 2910lbs, was a small displacement, light and fun RWD car, it was in every measure a great car right up until summer rolled around and the battery couldn’t keep up with cooling the engine after shutting down...

But I made do and

Is that the Chicago parking meters?

1986 Ford Mustang SVO, bought it ~1989. Just a blast to drive, my first experience with a turbo engine that actually had a lot of HP (for the day, 205). Also the best looking Fox Stang IMO.

I’m in Syracuse and they are planning to install cameras here. Everyday on my commute, I drive through by an elementary school with a posted 20mph speed limit. Everyday, I have someone on my bumper when I slow down to that speed. The cars ahead and in the other lane seem to ignore the speed, too.

Wrong Granada for sure. That’s the UK one. And the Mark 1 Granada in both sedan and coupe is a fantastic looking thing.

Duuuuude. This is the Granada mentioned in slide 6.

Took my Mini Countryman JCW up on Skyline Drive in Shenandoah National Park last Monday.  If going on a weekend, a campervan with a bathroom as the line is 2 hours long to get into the park (craziness!).  No wait last Monday haha.

Far left is a Citroen SM, then a Maserati Quattroporte SIII.

My first choice is from a nice tour bus, but second choice is certainly either one of my convertibles. Here relaxing on my mother’s lawn in the fall in Maine:

Leaf peep in style:

Triumph TR3. Had it around the Wisconsin countryside for 6 hours between apple picking and the pumpkin patch, hope to have it out again this weekend. The sloping door as an armrest on the open cabin, and the smiles from every car we stop against has my 8yo just beaming with joy every time we take her out, particularly

Has to be a Model T touring. Look, you’re not going to go fast anyway. Drive something alive, bring a few friends and it can handle any back road, dirt or mud. And when it starts to rain, just put the roof up.

Y’all keep asking, but the answer is obvious:
