I like that Buick, a lot actually. But the engine, I just can't.

The Mazda 3 be my choice on this list. The Skyactiv motor is low maintenance & has enough pep for the chassis. Being the engine & components aftermarket is plentiful due to being in multiple applications it drives parts cost down on repairs when needed.

Most regular cars from regular manufacturers from Japan or South Korea will NOT have parts availability issues, even if they go bankrupt. I have a 10 year old Mazda which I maintain myself, and I can find absolutely EVERYTHING I need on Rockauto.com. You’re always going to get charged more at the dealer for parts, but

The Buick is the only car from an automaker that I would trust for parts & service.

If you are considering any of the vehicles on this list and don’t drive the 3 before you make your final decision, you are doing yourself a disservice.

Obviously the Chameleon XLE.

As the frequency and intensity of natural disasters continues to increase due to human-caused climate change, drastic measures like Amsterdam’s zero-emission waterway regulations make more and more sense. As unfortunate as it is to know this may be the last time we will see a gaggle of adorable Amphicars putting

1910 Cadillac Model 30

The Lincoln is a much better bet if that is what you want. Those early LS are EXPENSIVE to run at this point. The Town Car is a dinosaur, but it’s parts are dirt cheap and there aren’t many of them since it’s as complicated as a hammer.

4th gen Lincoln Continental.

My vote is for the Mercedes Benz W140. I had never driven anything comparable to that beast. It was comfortable, fast, very solidly built and it had serious presence. When I drove its replacement, I was very disappointed as it could not hold a candle to the vastly superior and over-engineered W140.

2004-2006 LS430, hands down. Just like Miata is the answer for Best Sports Car, this LS430 is the answer for best luxury car. Classic good looks while BMW when Bangle crazy, impeccable reliability and build quality when Mercedes when extruded plastic fantastic.

Creamy smooth and reliable 4.3 V8 and the upgraded 6

Bentley Muslanne the last of the Old World Bentleys. Has the 6 3/4 engine that dates back to the 50's makes a gazillion lb-ft of torque off idle. Requires between 17-18 cows to die for the interior and at least one very large tree. The interior require 170 man-hours to complete. I would’ve picked the Arnage T but this

There can be no best in this question, because best is highly subjective. I find the Lexus LS to be a finely engineered car, but it has zero presence or sense of occasion compared to an S-Class, for example. Boooooring. A Rolls-Royce Phantom is fantastically luxurious - but I also find them fantastically tacky and

My pick is the 2016-ish Mercedes S600. Incredible room, with state of the art tech that’s not intrusive, just makes the ride better like the road-scanning adjustable suspension. It’s got the correct number of cylinders (12), and is an effortless high speed cruiser. Yeah there are other cars that are more luxurious,

Toyota Century V12.

Mercedes Benz 600 ‘Grosser’

I LOVED this nomination when it was made last week. It’s so absurdly, technically a sedan I had to love it. It’s got four doors, a back seat, and a trunk. In the strictest definition of what makes a sedan, it’s a sedan.

No love for the Lancia Fulvia?
