Only good loot boxes are in Horizon Zero Dawn and Dragon Ball Fighter Z. If I can buy them, or if they contain things that people actually care about, they should be literally any other meaningful form of reward/progression.

Loot Boxes done right is a game with an interesting progression system, actual rewards for playing the game and, oh yes, no loot boxes. Overwatch is an infinitely worse game due to its use of loot boxes. Even if you’re ok with the loot boxes, you’d be more satisfied with the game if it weren’t there. End of story.

You know what helps alleviate that problem? You can buy FIFTY loot boxes in a bundle for a very reasonable price! Then your odds go up significantly! It’s like empowering players with choice, except, well, the opposite I guess.

Overwatch would be far better without loot boxes at all. Win 150 matches as Mercy during Halloween? Get the sexy Witch Mercy skin. Can’t play 150 matches in a week? Pay $5 for it.
