No, it’s rendered pointless because you can play their games without owning the console hardware. His point is about the box itself, not the brand or game pass or the few worthwhile first party games Microsoft has managed to release this gen. Why buy an Xbox when you can just play first party games like Gears 5 on a

This console has been 100% dead for over 2 years now.

Wait, so we both agree the movie bombed. I assume we both agree the movie sucked. There are numerous reasons for this failure, only one of which was referenced above (i.e. Singer). Besides the scripts and a lot of other things, the acting was also bad in these across the board.

PC gamers are super entitled, that’s really all there is to it. They pay so much more for hardware that they’re always looking for any excuse to save money by pirating software.

Because PC gamers are use to having everything they want when they want it and now that it’s being challenged the majority are acting like children over shit that really doesn’t matter.

I will never understand the childish anger of internet gamer bros. I get the social/cultural/political roots of it, I just can’t imagine being so angry over something so miniscule. I like to believe it’s just teenagers who don’t know any better, but it’s so often overemotional adult men. It blows my mind every time

This kinda sums up my feelings on Assasin’s Creed Odyssey and Anthem. For different reasons specifically but broad strokes it just comes down to both games being too big and too much hassle. I don’t have a lot of free time and I don’t want to spend it playing a game I’m not that into. Weather it’s a game that has WAY

I agree, we should be calling it what it really is, a Bioware killer.

But as you mentioned it’s happened before with MagicAmy...And Kotaku made a similar article. “Truthfully, a lot about this situation feels uncomfortable—a woman has been driven out of the Hearthstone community, over seemingly flimsy accusations.”

Sorry about that - I’ve just seen articles here hit harder about this stuff. This one only really mentions Naughty Dog and CDPR - two other devs that are well-liked here and in general, so it felt like this was supposed to be a ‘pass.

You’re reading what you want to read and getting a different tone than I am. He wasn’t justifying this by pointing out Naughty Dog and CDPR, he was using this as a moment to remind us that even our favorite studios are not the angels we think they are. The paragraph where he mentions the other studios is sandwiched

Nice to see that all the emcee cares about is whether she can make her suit pink. Really love that pandering to the women.

If there were ever any EA games that are begging for Switch releases, it’s this game and its predecessor.

The other side of that coin is for publishers to adjust and reign in their budgets accordingly with their projected sales and intended audience to make a profit off a $60 price tag.

I didn’t mind vanity loot boxes either until people like Jim Sterling convinced me that they are really no better than gambling boxes for actual gear.

What if you were able to earn them in-game via some sort of achievement with a character class, etc?

Lootboxes are going away because of the very real threat of legal retaliation since it’s gambling aimed at children. Legislation is slow to pass but the process has already started so it’s best for companies to start distancing themselves from the practice before they start getting fined or worse.

I’m certainly not going to complain, but I get the feeling that something far more insidious is waiting just around the corner.

It’ll probably be something along those lines. I’ll stay skeptical until game’s release and reviews.
