Could’ve gotten all those games on literally any other platform. That’s literally the crux of the god damned argument. I could have more games on my Virtual Boy than I have time to play (actually, that doesn’t help my point because those games were exclusive) but that doesn’t make it a successful console. I’ve learned

Decent retort on the second try I guess. And I believe I sense a little, oh wait, what is that term kids are using on the internet these days that makes no sense? Oh yes, I believe I sense ADashOfSalt in your eloquent response.

Ooh, fantastic. The lay person has arrived. A poorly educated internet phrase that hasn’t made sense from it’s inception in your general direction as well good sir! I also hope you remain well hydrated I guess?

I honestly have trouble believing that people make this argument seriously. Microsoft has multiple flagship failures in it’s history, as does every major consumer brand out there. The “well a bunch of assholes in suits thought this was the best move in an industry they fundamentally don’t understand” argument is

Because brand loyalty kills industries. It results in stagnation, both for the brands affected but by competitors brands. Why do you think phones are losing headphones jacks? Because the industry leader got away with it and their “loyalists” (read: apologists) just ate it, despite it being overwhelmingly unpopular.

Mad? No. I told you. The Xbox One was the right console for you as someone who only plays 360 games and enjoys super fancy 4k DVDs.

The only reason I’m going to give you your point is that Microsoft doesn’t make games and they certainly aren’t targeting gamers with their GAMES console. I guess when you look at the Xbone as a DVD player first, I could see deluding myself into thinking I’ve come out ahead. This is a gaming blog though so “my DVD

I could tear your post down point by point, but I’m honestly sick of people working so hard to justify a bum purchase. If you own a VR capable PC, the Xbox One is a colossal waste of money. I’m pretty sure you have repeated “some of us like the controller better,” at least 3 times in a very short post which shows real

Thanks, being an intelligent consumer these days is difficult with all the idiots around!

You “feeling” what you’re missing out on is not the same as actually missing out on. The number of Sony published titles that will essentially monopolize the best games of the generation list is staggering. None of MS published exclusives even register this gen. I bet in an alternate universe you own a PS4 and are

Also, the whole post very clearly spells out a point and you single out a phrase that is literally just calling out one brand of stupid loyalist and you get your tightie whities in a bunch? Think I found one of those “stupid Xbox brand loyalists...”

No, I didn’t. Brand loyalists, be they for Apple, Google, Nintendo, Sony, Microsoft, Kellogg’s, Tesla, Exxon our any other companies, are god damned idiots. It’s poor consumer behavior from brand loyalists that lead to loot boxes and all the other garbage we have to deal with now. Be an informed consumer. Buy products

Honestly? The fact that this viewpoint is considered fanboy-like at all speaks to how sad our world is now. There are ways to avoid being a fanboy that doesn’t involve throwing $400 at every half assed product to hit the market.

Also, I’m going to counter your argument saying that having no exclusive games causing PC sales has no effect on Xbox sales. The PC is better than the Xbox in every way. I guarantee you that at least a small fraction of people purchased a PC (or decided NOT to purchase an Xbone in addition to their existing PC)

One problem with owning both: there’s absolutely no reason to. Buying a PS4 gets you EVERYTHING except the 3 games (of variable and occasionally questionable quality) that MS makes a year. Buying an Xbox has you missing a large majority of games that define this generation. Buying an Xbox and PC fixes that somewhat, I

This will KILL Crackdown 3's sales. I was pretty sure it was going to fail BEFORE this move, because it’s a bad game, but who would buy a game you can beat in <20 hours if you can rent it for $10? Uninformed consumers who probably won’t know about it anyways cause I’m pretty sure MS won’t even push that turd with

Something tells me this game’s budget would not be OK with a $10 MSRP, so that’s inherently telling about the quality of the game and/or MS business strategy that you don’t think enough people will buy it.

/s? I think you forgot to label your post up there.

Haha, the worst part is, every time they do that, they drive up development costs for the 1 game they release a year and then the business side chooses to give it away for almost nothing on a sub service or tell customers to buy it for PC instead. I truly think this is MS setting the table to shutter the Xbox division.

I’d still take it! Spent the entire night playing it on PS4 and the whole time I still regretted having to buy it before the Switch version...
