Agreed. Our culture of shaming is lamentable. Public shaming can be useful but it shouldn’t be the de facto response. If someone is wrong, tell them why they’re wrong, not why they’re racist, misogynist etc. If they’re not open to discussion, if they are willfully ignorant, then shame away.
