Well obviously this is just bad PR and they should just pay the damn warranty and take care of the customer. But...heavy people know they wear out cars faster. Should Hyundai also replace the seat with the flattened cushions? Should they fix the door that sags because it gets leaned on 10 times/day by a heavy person

This is fantastic writing.

Strongly agree. Much like WWII was not a war for ideas but a war for military dominance and victory, this is a war for political victories. We should not be negotiating with people who are known to constantly be acting in bad faith.

I often wonder how in the hell these deals originate. Did their executives meet in a sweat lodge smoking payote?

Can someone block this dipshit?

Well let’s get straight the fact that you called anyone who disagrees with you children...

Pay me a ton of money or I’m totally going to remind the Korean public that I was famous twenty years ago.

Since when is “comparisons” equivalent to “exactly the same”. Hitler was a dangerous idealogue but Trump is a scared child. He will do anything to protect his appearance of success. Because he is so psychologically weak, he could make any number of missteps that don’t benefit him or us. In my mind, that is more

Okay two major problems wth this conclusion: one, false equivalency with Republicans crying wolf about Obama with no evidence versus an entirely fact-challenged egotist who is so easily manipulated by people much smarter than him including our fiercest enemies.

Where do you get this bullshit? Obama has worked much harder than Bush ever did. Way to make up the facts to suit your argument.

OK so my engineering team has a running joke where we add VTOL to basically every spec doc for every system we build. Maybe this is kind of like that? I think we can expect every new military system to include VTOL as well.

I think it’s pretty clear that Uber is doing for a fight here. Apparently Otto did this same thing in Nevada and was able to get away with it. The CA DMV gives no fucks though. Brian Soublet has shown himself to be capable and determined and seems to be running self driving car regulation mostly or completely on his

Firstly, the real barrier is not the license fee but the difficult-to-acquire insurance, which Uber may or may not have to the satisfaction of the DMV. This issue could have been as simple as the amended insurance is taking a while and they didn’t want to wait.

Thanks for the write-up. I don’t think most people get exposure to some of these nuances that you mentioned. Packaging is a big deal in a machine as complex as a car.

I have heard from several knowledgeable sources that the brain drain began a while ago and they feel like it’s over. Even if a magic turkey full of money showed up tomorrow, the team was moving on.

I had the same problem trying to watch the Olympics with a gen 1. I had a thought to upgrade to the gen 2 and it works almost flawlessly with the NBC app.

And they are doing everything in their power to impede independent shops or owners working on them. Not going to fly if they want to become a major auto manufacturer. Why are they fighting a losing battle? They will have to reverse themselves at some point. It’s a shame really. I’m the biggest Tesla supporter there is.

All of my backpacking gear is more than 15 years old. An article like this reads like Greek to me. Is any of that stuff even possible? My pack is usually in the 70-80lb range even for just a few days. Maybe it’s time to explore the state of the art...
