Premature confetti is a serious problem. Fortunately there are effective medications to treat it. Talk to your doctor.

As a former owner of a 2008 Off-Road model (basically what the Pro-4X is today) with a manual 6-speed I’m totally biased, but you are absolutely correct. Never needed repairs for 75,000 miles until I sold it to my nephew who killed the clutch learning to drive a standard. I regret parting with this thing every day...
I certainly hope so. Ever since I sold my 2008Nissan XTerra Off Road and replaced it with a BMW 228 xDrive (I wanted something really different), I’ve missed having a proper truck in the stable. I’ll miss the 6-speed manual on the XTerra, but I’d love the (presumably) improved mileage a 10-speed auto would offer. The…
Is this removable for any semi-serious off-roading? And by “removable” I mean in the on purpose way, with tools, not by driving it into something tall enough to rip it off, like a few sheets of paper or a marble.
Fair enough. And I certainly live in the enthusiast bubble, my garage:
Oh be realistic. They would have easily sold *scores* more per year!
Wait, the XTerra isn’t a truck?
They could have done absolutely nothing other than put a diesel in it (admittedly not a small thing) and they would have sold plenty I think.
Noooooooo!!!! I guess my plan to replace my 6-speed 2008 Off-Road with a new Pro-4x (i.e. basically the same truck with a different name and some very minor upgrades) has entered the “Now-or-Never” zone. I’d hoped to wait a couple more years.
The very short answer: A computer program for converting more-or-less human readable source code (the stuff programmers write) to more-or-less computer readable code (the stuff computers execute). It’s not exactly that simple, but that’s it in a nutshell.
Agree. This is a case where revenge is a dish best served hot.
My favorite grad school memory: Working on a C compiler for 36 straight hours and starting to have the most vivid auditory hallucinations of rodents scurrying all around me. Those were the days I tell ya.
I was responding with something along these lines, but you said it as well or better so ‘cancel’...plus “not a garden variety long con job” is a wonderful phrase.
I generally have an opinion on everything...but this? I confess I have no idea what to think. I keep looking for some sort of context in which to put this and keep failing to find any.
Graduated college in 1992, so badly wanted an MX-6 LS V6 but couldn't afford it. Settled for a MX-3 with the tiny optional 1.8l V6. My God was that car a lemon. Turned me off from Mazda for 20 years, until I picked up a used 2008 Miata.
Two years ago my Bride and I went through a somewhat analogous situation, except the Porsche in question was a high mileage Boxster S. I really, really, really wanted one of those cars. You know what happened? What is always the answer[1]?

I think I could handle it. But I'd take a boat home from Tokyo.
Does this foreshadow a new 4-Runner as well? The miles are piling up on my 08 XTerra and I'll be looking for a replacement in a couple years. The current 4-Runner is just too calcified to consider.
