Who iniated the push for this law? Is it clearly political, or is it a power play between religion and the state? From the outside, many big news relation to Indonesia are about outrage in one or another of the religious community, or friction created by faith.

Yeah, the symptoms are different in every country. It’s just catering to the worst people (whoever they are) and destroying any sense of a united country where the rule of law actually matters, and turning everyone against everyone else.

It would help if people stopped using the word “invest.” That gives it an air of legitimacy that it hasn’t earned and doesn’t deserve.

Saw a documentary (or at least a piece of one) recently where they were showing these rather massive underground storm drains for flood use in the Vegas area. Apparently, they seldom get used given the regional climate, so they’ve become homeless encampments. Kind of like underground cities. Hope those folks made it…

No kidding. He was by far the only redeeming quality in Iron Man 2.

See this is why we need to increase our “domestic supply of infants” and why it’s imperative to stop women’s right to choose. We need babies to feed the machine. And don’t get me started on the dwindling supply of soldiers.

How about we not pretend that we, socially and legally, should only have the capacity to deal with one side or the other. Accepting that men also get abused, or assaulted, or raped, and doing anything about it doesn’t detract from also continuing to recognize and care about what happens to women. This isn’t an issue…
