The 3dd cutscenes in the first game sucked. It was a huge step down in terms of charm and quality from the 2d cutscenes.

I know about the DS version, I waited for it a long time.... I didn’t know it was turn based though. Maybe I would have liked this one better. I hated the combat system on PS3.

First of all, I won’t know if the gameplay and combat are better until I try it. I never believe any declaration from developers or publishers, and most JRPG are really stuck in the past and plain boring IMO.

Sorry I wasn’t clear enough, I loved the ghibli cutscenes and the decors.
BUT, I didn’t like everything else about the game, it slow, boring, with uninteresting combat and poorly balanced difficulty.

I’m not really a diehard fan of turnbased. I just want a combat system that works and is fun.
