I agree with all you said except for the fact that this was a joke. Maybe a bad one, but a bad joke is still a joke. He didn’t go in thinking “yes, I’m going to use this as a way to send antisemitic messages”. He thought it was a funny experiment, that he could get away with it. He didn’t.
