Seconding the UV problem. I lost 2 tires in one day to old age; they had plenty of tread left, but just failed. One went flat, so I pumped it up to drive to the tire store and blew out a front on the first speed bump in my neighborhood.

My Dad had a pilot’’s license before he ha a driver’s license, he used to ride his bike or hitchhike out to the airport. He owned 2 airplanes outright as a young man ans is currently president of a flying club that owns a 72 Skyhawk with an uprated engine. (LS swap?)
