I finally have thoughts about a Dirt Bag post because usually I don’t know who anyone is:

And we have term limits again, like it never happened, and no one questions it. Bill de Blasio does not have a small ego and does not lack in self-esteem, but I don’t see him pushing for a similar exemption. I’m sure Corey Johnson wouldn’t give it to him because he will be 2021's Chris Quinn. To be honest I don’t

It’s just the opposite. It deosn’t exactly fawn over the Windsors and their pals, but it casts them in a very sympathetic light.

If you are as obsessed with The Crown as I am, watch Season 3 that was just released on Netflix yesterday. They have a history of making horrendous PR blunders. The Queen makes one by not acting, and Prince Philip makes two by acting. That season ends in 1977, so we haven’t entered the Charles and Diana years yet...

But Trump has never apologized for anything over the course of his improbably (given his diet) long life.

And by seeking and accepting that third term he arguably cost Chris Quinn her own election to succeed him. She was ahead in the polls because she was a popular City Council Speaker, but then people started harping on her instrumentality in getting Bloomberg that term limits exemption. And then de Blasio ran the “walkin

Without spoiling for others:

I just completed the whole thing! There must be a The Crown thread in the near future, once people who wanted it have caught up.

You are correct! I never knew that.

I’ve heard that what protects Andrew from a lot of this is that the Queen is especially fond of him and his daughters. His brother, the heir apparent, not so much. When he busts out “God Save The Queen” he might be the person on the planet who means it the most.

My grandmother used to make the best gingerbread and do you know what the best thing to put on warm gingerbread is? Cool-Whip. I’m not joking. It’s the perfect pairing and I don’t know why. When I make gingerbread that’s what I do, lo these many decades later. It’s the only time I buy Cool-Whip and yet it’s

Rupert is the perfect name for that noble hound! He is obviously a very good boy.

I have a very quiet Saturday planned so maybe I’ll look around for an in-depth review with a lot of quoted passages. For extra fun maybe I’ll find an outlet that likes something like this and gave a glowing review. “As Mr. Trump so astutuely describes, the problem...”

For my yearbook they let us ramble on. People had their activities listed (I was very busy in high school so I had a ton of those) and then free-associated, listing their pals and memories and maybe a quote or two. Mine used a lot of insider slang that I can’t remember anymore so I no longer know what I said.

Ah yes. Lieberman of the Nutmeg State. Nothing too good for his constituents, the large insurance conglomerates.

You have to order it though. My branch is tiny and filled with odds and ends and leftovers. It’s really bad and sad. No one, except for me apparently, browses the stacks (there aren’t many to browse) and the stuff they have is not what most people would want to read.

That was just my anecdata, which is not the best data.

I doubt it. Not here. Maybe on the Staten Island ferry.

I’m actually slightly interested in reading this for its dark comedy.

It can also be used as a back-channel slush fund to get around campaign finance rules. Suppose you, as an individual, want to give $1 million to a candidate directly. You could set up a PAC but that’s expensive and time consuming and potentially lead to some scrutiny.
