These are all arc welding processes. A sound weld made with mig or tig will be as strong as a sound weld made with stick using similar grade filler metals.

I have one foot in this camp. You’re not protecting the paint if you paint over it, but they are grippy so junk doesn’t slide around as much, and it reduces scraping down to bare metal.

I have a hard time with 1st gen including the 71-73 cars. Those monsters don’t seem like they should have enough in common with the 60s stangs. Not saying it’s wrong, but it feels wrong.
