Right now the drivers are doing that themselves and still making money.

Agreed... But about the only cars I can think of that would be 2WD with a locker would be drag cars and some circle track cars... Which I don’t think would really be used for offroading anyway.

Honda Element FTW:

Sure, but remember back then, everyone was excited for the new eclipse anyways.

Wait, hold the phone, are you implying a 3G Eclipse convertible doesn’t really have the performance credentials to be a hero car??

You out-pedanted a pedant. I like you. Take your star.

I’d say it’s also a case of having a car way faster than everybody else’s.

Well, I mean, I don’t know if 100 people could really be considered a “crazy” amount.

Yeah, depending on how well it was strapped down, it’d either burn the tires off or go flying off the dyno.

The awe for MKIV Supras is generally reserved for people who spent their Saturday nights milling around parking lots in the early 2000's.

Magazines always tested red ones.  Adolescent supra-wanting,spec memorizing, me would take one in red for peak nostalgia.

I live near where these were built and would see them driving around from time to time. In person they look like really high end golf carts, and they stickered at $40k.

The problem you’re overlooking: Parts.

Yeah... 168hp isn’t really news worthy in the bike world anymore... but 163 ft-lbs? Wow.

Also weight distribution and aero/styling. If you build a short car with a long engine, you have to hang the engine out past the front tires. It’ll be more front heavy and have a taller nose than it would if you pushed the engine back into the car more.

Yeah... It’d be way cooler if they they just gave the Singer treatment to original Typhoons.  Modern brakes/suspension/transmission... an interior that’s not so 80's GM, etc.

“Hey guys, whatcha’ talking about?”

They caught that afroduck guy for speeding by going back through street cameras months after the fact.

Mercedes owner is as good as arrested... They caught that Afroduck guy for speeding around NYC when he posted a video months after doing it.

Agreed... From a spectator standpoint, there needs to be a sense of theater to motorsport. Without a lot of noise, it just isn’t there.
