Many of their cars have autos even in Europe. Almost all of the SL/SLC r/c107 cars had a slushy automatic in them. Just try to find a 5 speed 450SLC.

Exactly I've owned a W124(1987 300E) and a C107 (1974 450SLC) and there isn't even an attempt at a cup holder. There is a carpeted spot behind the center console. I picture a German engineer saying "Ze customer vill not eat in my car!".
