If they're only in one lane you wouldn't have the congestion like that.
If they're only in one lane you wouldn't have the congestion like that.
I mean how else would you have the self driving car work? I think that's kind of a given that its going to go 65 if that's the speed limit where ever it is.
hum. yeah. how would you make sure they're awake so that it doesn't have to automatically stop and cause traffic. I'd say put an alarm that goes off 2 miles before the exit or something but if they're anything like me they'll sleep through it.
Or even just restrict them to HOV lanes.
It doesn't have to work everywhere. That's more or less the point. Put some people that already know how to drive in an autonomous car in the carpool lane and let them be distracted. I kind of revised the idea to saying restrict autonomous cars to the HOV lane until its proven its a good idea to give them more…
People are dumb asses though. It depends on the area but most places say that an emergency vehicle can not go more than some amount over the speed limit, like 20mph. So they can speed but they're not supposed to absolutely haul ass through town.
That's a good point. Someone else brought it up. To that I'm thinking you more of just restrict them to the carpool lane.
Yeah. What I'm thinking anyway though is its just on freeways and you still have to actually drive the car everywhere else.
Actually they're not supposed to for this reason. Killing someone on the way to maybe save someone isn't a good trade off.
What I'm saying is a company like Lotus or Aston Martin can't sell direct either. Its not that there are "anti Tesla laws" its that the dealers are being difficult. So really Tesla and everyone else on their bandwagon should be making that point as well. Tesla is not the only company affected by this, its not about…
What I was talking about is when there is snow on the shoulder or you saw it snow the day before you will usually drive slower and leave more room in anticipation that you will have a longer stopping distance. You'll usually enter corners slower too. A computer would have a hard time doing this.
Good thing they're starting out in CA then.
I was thinking you could just put them in the commuter lanes and then restrict where people can merge into them like already exist in some areas. Then if other drivers elect to use the lane with the self driving cars they can. I would think that as time goes on and it becomes more mainstream you could then start…
I've thought about this a lot actually. Why not start out by making autonomous lanes and then requiring the driver to actually drive the car outside of those lanes. Then keep the same at fault laws for insurance.
Like I said the rule is stupid but people, Tesla included, love making a big deal out of it. It seems like they want to make it about how Tesla is being oppressed by some law that specifically targets them. Really everyone has to go through the same thing and small manufacturers should be working together to get this…
I really do not like how they use the term "banned".
Inspection and registration are different fines. Usually you need both anyway and the registration fine is often much larger. Sounds like its a bigger deal in AUS but in most states you'll at least get a fine for a couple hundred dollars.
Actually that wouldn't be irony. I'm normally not a grammar Nazi but that one pisses me off.
For a while now I've been supporting the idea of organizing an "Illegals strike for equal rights" day. Pretend to be one on Facebook and get them to all meet in one location. Then when mayhem ensues because you just put a few thousand illegals in the same place together arrest them for various riot related crimes.…
Every time I buckle my seatbelt, I am afraid... If they write something on the back of the license that says it can't be used to deport me, then maybe I'll get one.
