Not all of us have consoles or a desire to own one.

The US isn't really setup to give people good psychological help either. Even without prison, getting someone the treatment for depression they need just so they don't feel like killing themselves is close to impossible.

I would agree, probation and community service would be a much better and more appropriate penalty. Probably an extended probation, thanks to the seriousness.

These kids probably won't have the cash, but I don't see why they shouldn't both be fined and imprisoned, with the fine covering both the operation and the jail stay.

They are sort of evocative of the oblong intakes of the Victor and Comet:

Why would you date someone who would set traps for you? If you're dating a cool and good person, she is not setting a trap for you.

The 20 seems really excessive. I believe they normally use flights of three (sometimes 4) for flights around DC. You need to be able to do that, plus forward deploy some for trips outside the DC. It looks like they only use two presidential copters for these though they frequently are escorted by additional military

I haven't heard much whining about getting 747-8s to replace the current VC-25s. Or about billions on the VXX program, which despite being based of an existing helicopter failed to deliver a single aircraft the first time around. Now these may have advantages in they they are new aircraft, but it is still all a bit

Yeah, though there is a pretty good sized gulf between exceedingly opulent and this, which I'd classify as one step above "dorm lounge". In fairness, the furniture wouldn't seem out of place in a 1970s office which is probably what they were going for when first built.

You'll see similar arguments against public employee unions all the time (or unions in general): Why should they make a living wage when I'm working a shitty job making minimum with no job guarantees?

From her bio: "She runs, reads, and eats way too much and is passionate about humanism..."

Oh honey...

It's human nature to take the shortsighted view and subconsciously fear that someone else's success must come at one's own expense, as if all of life were a zero-sum game —...

Also, can we talk about the hypocrisy in this article? Bartlett wants owners to "improve the livelihood of those in the service industry." Well, by not tipping, Bartlett is supporting the owner's businesses (by eating the food) while simultaneously screwing over the workers (by not leaving a tip). Also. To hold China

That reminds me of something Jim once said about Duke Nukem Forever I think it was: "Instead it should be more ironic... I don't know, just pulling this at random, some fat blogger with a whiny English accent, dressed up in a trenchcoat with glasses like he's some sort of rock star, with a background that makes it

...and he rolled his 1990 Pathfinder not terribly long afterwards.

Yes, it's racist. Like, super racist. "100%" that "race or culture"? How can you be 100% of any culture, in today's world? ...or race? Everybody's got some mix in them.

Wha... what...?

By this logic, only Native Americans should be allowed to become Miss America.

Now playing

Well, and then there's the Alien Cyborgs from AvP 1 (It's not the best video, but it's all I could find on such short notice.)
