That’s the thing. The stuff in Gotham felt like it could have happened in a week, but Bruce’s timeline felt like it took 6 months.

Aren’t all 3 currently on HBO Max? I know the first 2 are.
Not only that, but he was in China and found his way back to Gotham City somehow despite being in a foreign country with no resources whatsoever and all of his allies otherwise occupied.
It’s ironic that Depp played “Johnny” in the Tom Petty video for “Into The Great Wide Open,” in which Johnny was an out of touch rockstar who lived too hard too fast and was left with nothing. It took Depp 30 years to become that guy in real life.
This is a purely superficial thing, but I don’t always enjoy working out with headphones on because they get sweaty or uncomfortable or I catch the cord on something (yes I’m ancient and use wired headphones, shut up). I have enjoyed being able to hook up my phone to my bluetooth speaker and blast my music while I…
Wain appeared on R U Talkin R.E.M. re: ME? a few years back and he played one of his “remixes”, of AC/DC’s “You Shook Me (All Night Long)” and I have bookmarked his website where he hosts the collection of those remixes ever since. I cannot stop laughing at the little changes he makes to make these songs sound…
If you’re a US citizen you can become a police officer. That seems to be the general rule.
I loved the scene with the lawyer in the previous episode when she went from “How fucking charming do you think you are?” to about a minute later realizing, “Wow, this guy is SO charming that we need to get him on TV in front of the national public immediately.” Because Grant really IS that charming and believable.…
There are just SO MANY non-Americans playing American characters in this show, it seems like every character has a few blatant accent slip-ups. The only one who doesn’t is the kid playing Henry, he does a great American accent.
And if you DO check out The Shield, make sure you read the AV Club Classic reviews of the series as you go along. And check the comments section because there’s one commenter in particular who gives GREAT analysis as a companion to the reviews.
The ringer wasn’t on, it was on silent but vibrating. She probably hadn’t been calling from that room prior to that moment, so that was the first time she heard the vibrating in the drawer.
They are of different age, and Grace used that as a reason for why Henry doesn’t know Miguel, but someone else pointed out that it’s a very small school and everybody basically knows everybody. It’s possible Henry knows Miguel more than we think he does at this point.
Hugh Grant flipping out and holding his own in a PRISON FIGHT was a weirdly “FUCK YEAH!” moment for me; maybe just because I like Hugh a lot and seeing him kick ass was oddly satisfying.
I’m now fantasy-booking a fight between Wolverine and Mando to see whose indestructible metal is more indestructible-uh-ER.
Luke basically did that in his final battle with Vader. He fed into the anger but didn’t let it consume him completely. I would like to think that when he was training Ben and others at the temple that he taught them similarly, not to completely ignore the feelings, but to try and control them. Ironically, Luke let…
I don’t know anything about the character beyond what was presented in this very episode, but I felt the same way just based on my knowledge of Jedi taken from the films. She seemed like someone who has been a loner on a quest for vengeance and on a mission to uproot any remnants of the Empire, definitely fueled by…
I was going to say, doesn’t he admit an affinity for paying for it? Or is that just a rumor? I always felt that way.
Fair enough. By ending, I thought you were referring to the finale specifically, not the whole final season.
Jack was also still a raging alcoholic during this timeline, wasn’t he? I know we haven’t seen much of him drinking when the kids were babies, but any time we see Rebecca and Jack out and about on their own around that time period, Jack is always drinking. Am I remembering that wrong? Maybe the baby crying stuff was…
I think it’s pretty realistic that a hardline director realizes that his lead actor needs to be validated and propped up with encouragement and takes some sort of action to try and inspire him.
