I guess I’ve never thought about the specifics of it too much, given that it’s Lynch and I tend to think of it more of a tone/feeling type of thing, but you basically put into words exactly how I FELT about the ending and what it meant. Kudos.

This is the second-funniest use of Hoobastank in pop culture. The funniest is when Rod regains consciousness after his major stunt-gone-wrong in Hot Rod, and he gasps out, “HOOBASTANK!”
I don’t know about that. GRRM gave them SOME ideas of where the story was headed for the most major characters, but there’s a reason he hasn’t, you know, WRITTEN IT YET. I don’t know how many fans are thinking “GRRM’s story was great” when they didn’t really follow any GRRM template for the last 3 seasons other than…
I’ll admit, when I first watched The Mandalorian I thought they had brought him back as Doctor Pershing because they had under-used him so much in Rogue One. It wasn’t until I checked the credits after and realized it was Omid Abtahi, and NOT Riz Ahmed in glasses. I felt bad for thinking that, but I did wish they had…
Can I ask why you’d prefer to see it in 4:3? Did they do the zoom-in thing when they changed it to 16:9? Or is it like The Wire where they just expanded the frame using the full film?
“WHAT THE FUCK?!” - Mike Mitchell
The content of Cheers holds up remarkably well for an 80s sitcom, though. I rewatched most of the seasons a few years back when it was on Netflix, expecting it to be very problematic and having aged horribly, and I was pleasantly surprised at how enjoyable and heartfelt it was.

Wait, who’s Dwigt?
This would have been an extremely and unusually long cold open so I can see why it was unused. R.I.P. to Hugh Dane. I would not have pegged him as a good “Dorpheus” but he actually nailed it.
Oh 100%. Nothing Lucas ever wrote felt as naturally funny as that line, so I don’t doubt that Ford came up with that on the spot.
I mean, to be fair, her sister was fucking barreling towards home plate in that scene. It’s not completely unrealistic that a great catcher might lose control of the ball in that scenario.
I always thought Boba Fett was the most overrated and useless character in Star Wars canon and in 4 episodes of a TV show, Filoni and Favreau have somehow made him as cool and amazing as people always wanted him to be. I’m beyond impressed. And I love that Fennec joined him for the taking of Jabba’s palace.
Not to be a downer either, but doesn’t The Last Jedi kind of imply that Kylo Ren wipes out any of the newer Jedi that Luke had trained at the temple? Wouldn’t Grogu be part of that? Otherwise, why wouldn’t he have gotten involved in the events of Episodes VII-IX?
Clarke Peters (Lester) spent a lot of time in London and got his career started there but he is an American.
Aren’t you thinking of Ali Landry?
Lost’s finale ruled. Every season finale of Lost ruled, even the 6th.
Good point.
