I agree with everything you’ve said, but just to be clear, in this particular instance I’m not dojng my usual ‘we all need to reach out and listen to one another’ spiel.

These people are scum. They’ve committed absolutely scummy acts. But without wishing to seem that I’m somehow humanizing these scumbags, I don’t agree with those people who reduce them all to simplistic caricatures.

Maybe it’s covered in scabs and bruises because someone has flung it around and punched it so many times. Not saying that relates to this guy, but we shouldn’t discriminate against people who have been the victims of physical abuse and violence, many of whom will be from less advantaged groups.

Moore makes great points. Unlike most political commentators, including many on the left, Moore has proven himself to be correct time and time again. But he does need to be more subtle. Gutter trash talk won’t get us anywhere. It turns moderates off. And it risks bringing everyone down to Trump’s level.

Ironically, Moore a grossly obese, unkempt, slovenly, baseball cap wearing white dude is exactly what I picture when I think of the average Trump supporter.
