Jeez, this is like the third diesel Mark VII story I've seen on here. It's Windsor powered brethren hasn't been covered all that much :(. It's a far more competent car than anyone cares to give it credit for

This chart is pretty awesome. Neat layout. Unfortunately instead of me finding a good answer for what car to buy, it just reminded me that I really hate new cars. Can you make a used chart?
you find not only a Pt Cruiser but also an HHR as better alternatives to the panther? Somebody slipped you the wrong kool-aid
They had a diesel but no manual :(. But I fixed it on mine It now happily possesses a 351W and a T-5
no love for the fox based Mark VII? for shame
Olds should be revived to mix cadillac's architecture with chevrolet's interiors with a different look to the outside. I feel that maybe that could work. Besides who doesn't want more cutlasses (Cutli?) out and about
When will they stop with the gears? 6 speed automatics hunt for gears enough as it is. It should really just be left with 4/5 speed autos and 5/6 speed manuals. Engines are efficient enough already no need to go nuts. I'd hate to see the rebuild bill for one of these 7/8/9/10 speed transmissions.
it might not be for everyone but this taught me how to drive quite well. It was the best first car I could have picked
I found mine. 1990 Lincoln Mark VII LSC SE. I bought it as a second car and it quickly became my go to. When it hit 200k miles it was in pretty rough shape driveline wise so I am currently treating it to a 351w and T5 swap. I will never let go of this car.
who's car did you borrow? that's not a manufacturer or a dealer plate which is the norm for tested cars with Michigan plates.
Well if you're willing to throw down a bunch of money you could get one with a 4 speed and ~850 horsepower. It is a little harder to get in though and the lights leave much to be desired...
I wouldn't think that this has a T5 in it, I thought ford switched to the T-45 and then the TR3650 for their modular engined Mustangs.
did anyone else notice how awesome that 5.8 sounded in the GT500
Put the car in my avatar into a ditch within 3 days of getting my license because I tried to show off by drifting it. I'm glad I got my stupid moment out of the way early, I haven't done anything as stupid as that since then
Detroit is the only place I can travel to within 4 hours to get that 3rd world country feel. It looks kinda like pripyat ukraine in some places, God it's eerie.
The Lincoln Mark VII weighed roughly 3700 LBS and was sourced from the Fox Chassis
My first had 225HP (5.0 H.O.) and my second did as well, but both weighed 3700lbs so everything ended up fine. For the record my third has a whopping 120hp and I haven't wrecked one yet. I think the only requisite for HP limit is if they can buy it with their own money, people don't like destroying things they bought.
I'm not, I didn't know it existed, I'll look it up. Thanks!
My vote is in favor of the Lincoln Mark VII, I would love to see that thing in a game like Forza, in fact, I'd pay money for it, as long as it was an LSC anyways
I've got a regular zx2 and that's a surprisingly peppy car for what it is, although it is atrocious on freeways, so so noisy 35-3700 rpm's for hours at a time in a 4 cylinder is torturous. These should definitely be in videogames though, that'd be sweet!
