And Trillium. (Or was that still in 2013?)

Do you think that's why their good books can be frustrating too? Like, reading Wonder Woman, you look around and go, "WHY IS IT SO DIFFICULT FOR THE REST OF YOUR LINE TO TRY TO ACHIEVE SOMETHING LIKE THIS?!"

How much does Kot's run directly follow Spencer's?

Okay okay, let me rephrase (/think my way through my buying habits): I have to really dig a book from either Marvel or DC to justifiably pay $3.99 for. So Batman: yes. Secret Avengers: yes. JLU: no, probably not going to keep up with it. But I think a lot of my pull hovers between $2.99 and $3.50.

My comic-joining story is similar, mix in with a boyfriend who was all about that. But now, I'm down to like five DC and Marvel books

I didn't, so I'll concede that.

I agree, especially because DC and Marvel don't feel like they exist for comics anymore, but so cross-media projects can be promoted (movies, TV, video games).

Nicely enough, The Millions put out an essay today about Spider-Man and all his endless reboots, too.

Me, too. And I think Snyder/Capullo have embraced the ridiculousness and have been trying to make something huge with it. Mostly successfully.

Again, it seems like everything's getting stacked up against it, but the writers are strong enough that I'm willing to try it out.

But Secret Avengers was a new 'bringing the team together' and 'let's introduce them again.' Which is like, a team-up origin story?

I usually used the Web site to purchase books and then synced them over later. But the device store's also gone…or rather, super difficult to get through, and that was one of the biggest attractions to Comixology I had.

Maybe they could just skip the September 3D covers mumbo jumbo and other crossovers that interrupt the stories they do have that are interesting. SEEMS LIKE THE IDEAL TIME TO CLOSE SHOP.

Yeah, but every new no. 1 that Marvel puts out is another origin story, too. I don't think it's a DC thing, but just a general Superhero Comics thing.

Star Wars: Rebel Heist — Matt Kindt writing this drew me in, and I sort of had to go over it twice, since it was a little over-narrated. I think this is one of those things where the big picture won't be revealed till it's all said and done. Or at least I hope it's something like that, because being a super Kindt fan,

The more I hear of it, the more Future's End grabs my interest. I think the writing team of Azzarello and Lemire is much stronger than Tynion and Fawkes. And I don't know…despite my best reservations, everything I hear about it just makes it sound…interesting.

Fantastic Mr. Fox
Moonrise Kingdom
The Royal Tenenbaums
Grand Budapest Hotel
Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou
Rushmore
Darjeeling Limited
Bottle Rocket

I have only two or three books a week, usually, because apparently every publisher ever wants to release something this last full week of the month.

In addition to the books everyone is listing, I'd add:

Fuck yeah Battling Boy!
