They do make rock salt shells in 410, so you could carry a snake gun or very large revolver? Not sure that qualifies as non-lethal, though, given the generally close proximity.

But yeah, I agree about lawyers vs. deductibles.

Nah, read into the comments between us and you’ll see he was talking about using a gun to hold whoever keyed his car at the scene until the police arrived.

Criminal intent? Are you telling me you’ve never wanted to play bumper cars with full-sized cars? It was dumb, and they should be punished, but it’s not worth ruining their lives over.

Well, in Texas I think that’s just called being poorly prepared for a duel.

It’s not a threat to your safety. Unless you’re in Florida or Texas, it’s a crime. Even castle laws won’t protect you in most other states.

This just sounds like a great way to create career criminals to me.
Stupid? Yes. Immensely. But, nobody was hurt, and at the end of the day? Things are just things. Those cars can be rebuilt, and sold at an insurance auction for someone to snap up at a good price. If they had done so much as bruise an employee or

Sweet! Then my counter-suit for illegal detainment and/or kidnapping will have a solid legal basis. :)

Because I expect their deductible would be on the order of $10-20k (I might be wrong, I’m going off of the insurance for a non-automotive commercial business), and sticking 4 kids with $2-5k worth of debt is enough that they can work and repay it, but not so much as to trap them in debt forever. It’s about the lesson.

I would drastically oppose any kind of set-scale like that. It draws away from the belief that each crime and individual should be judged upon their own merit, and weighed accordingly.

It depends heavily on the kids, and how they were raised. I, personally, tend to give them the benefit of the doubt. If you can help

Define multiple levels of security? Maybe Hertz does security right, but the only dealership I’ve seen that took security seriously was the one which later got shut down for being a front for a crime family (got a great deal on a car there, though). Your average dealership has no gates or barriers, and the keys are

Normally I want to brush things like this off as “oh, kids being dumb” and slap on the wrist and let them go, but unless this is a group of strangely tall 8 year olds who saw zero fault in what they were doing? They should sentenced to a mount of community service (enough to last until they graduate from high school)

That’s a beautiful wagon. That’s one of the only era’s of BMW I like.

I thought it was an exaggeration when I first heard it (or my coworker had grown up rich in a poor neighborhood), but apparently people trashing nice cars is a fairly regular thing, over there, which strikes me as nuts.

Wait. Are you saying you’d to kill someone for keying your car, or that you keep a gun in your car? Cause the former seems like overkill, and the latter just makes you a target for theft.

A few points, possibly note worthy:

The S55 and s65 would have hydraulic suspension, rather than air suspension, I believe... but, either way, I’d keep the stock suspension. They might be tedious to deal with, but I do love the way they ride.

Chatted with a sales manager at one of the local (rural) Jeep dealerships while waiting for service on my rig (I’d bought a few rigs from him, and he’s kind of a car guy), and he told me there were several guys who came in every January, bought fully loaded, top-of-the-line 4 door Jeeps, put maybe 10k miles on them,

I keep staring at these, S55's, S65's, and the 2007 E63's.

Oh good, it’s not just me.

Nah, that’s too polite and civilized for the companies that enjoy building these data mining products. Two words: anal probe.

This is one of those moments where whoever is enforcing this policy needs to be both ‘reasonable and prudent.’ I have zero issue with clauses like this, for the reasons laid out in their terms: few things will get me to hunt a little harder or pay a little more for somewhere else (when I can) than broken-down cars or
