Not that I’m remotely qualified to do so, but I disagree with him strongly on the design of the Carson Fastback Special. I always saw a lot of the Dodge Challenger in the car, with a few bits-and-pieces from other muscle cars (the pointed middle hood like a 1970 Camaro/Firebird, like he mentions).

I also thought the

Do people not use credit unions? Mine will let you finance anything that’s less than 20 years old and under 125k miles as a ‘used car.’ My current one even allows exceptions for diesels (enabling you to buy older or higher miles) on a case-by-case basis. Catch is that you can’t finance more than the car’s NADA value.

This is not an airport. There’s zero need to announce your departure.

I saw one of these (in person) for the first time AFTER seeing the early 00's Thunderbird, and ever since then I’ve thought it looks like a tiny version of that car, and thus it was ruined forever.

Hellcat owner getting sued for damages in 3... 2...

Those are 8 lug axles. That means this is a 3/4th ton, right? I’m super jealous. I really wanted one of these, but the partner insisted we needed more luxury features since it’ll be a long-trip rig.

There’s heathens in the comments sections! Defend the brown wagons, burn the heathens!

On multiple times when buying cars, I went in with my own financing, and then, as we’re done with negotiations over price (with the finance guy), seem willing to take their loan if they can get me a better price.

This has successfully knocked a couple grand off the vehicle each time. My credit union, when I was doing

My innate response is “What? Corporations will do bad things to people as long as they profit?! NOOOO.” But there still isn’t a sarcasm font, so I’ll pass on that.

This is Amerikuh. We don’t waste cow’s milk.

Totally true, though. I honestly have zero faith in an autonomous car that racks up 2m miles driving in nice weather. Get a million miles in Wisconsin’s winters and Utah’s dust storms, and then we’ll talk.

Oh, I didn’t go for that to be technologically accurate, but more just for wide comprehension. I figured most people would understand badly written sql than something more precise to what would actually be used.

I anxiously await the day I can try a “Join * to * WHERE 1 = 1" on a fully autonomous car’s sensors.

If the roads are technically public, they probably don’t have much ability to enforce it. They can just issue fines, but since it isn’t technically their property, it’s harder for them to keep.

Because they onsite manager can casually overlook policies like that. I’ve heard of most apartments having such policies having rules like that on the books (the ones various friends lived in over the years had such rules). Other than a buddy with a project car that was fairly literally floorless and looked like a

Can we please get environmentally friendly battery tech before we mandate this? Saving CO2 while slaughtering huge sections of the planet for lithium mines is utter nonsense, and just feel-good green washing. Not actual improvements to anything.

When I was in high school, two buddies went wheeling solo, despite knowing better. Fittingly, they got stuck. After walking about 10 miles until they got cell reception, they called me and asked me to come get them. Like a good friend, I went to bail them out. On the drive back from getting them (they were starving

I think those of us on Jalopnik are. When one of my siblings and a couple friends were looking for a full-sized SUV, most of them refused to consider anything that wasn’t a Yukon/Suburban. I almost had one convinced to give the new (2014+) Durango a shot, but they bought a clapped out 2007 Suburban instead, and got

Depends on the family. When I was little, if you were the reason we took longer than 5-10 minutes to get in and out of rest stop? You didn’t get snacks at the next one, and had to make due with what you had.

The interior in the named Tesla vehicles is MILES inferior to the existing Jeep products, let alone an upmarket one like this. The only people cross-shopping those rigs are doing so because they want a status symbol. The ones after an actual luxury rig will cross-shop this with a Range Rover.

(to my knowledge, Rivian

That likely relies upon the FBI’s data. If so, the article is worthless. Reporting to the FBI and DoJ is voluntary, and there’s a lot of departments which simply don’t do it. You should use this. It’s the most accurate source I’ve found. It also proves that there is an issue. :)
