"Second, the episode showed with Hodor's fate in detail that the past cannot be changed, that all Bran can do is cause causal loops."

That's what the current episode showed. It doesn't mean that's the ultimate limit to his powers. He might, indeed, be able to unmake the whole series if he does the right thing at the

Pfft. Captain Kirk used to outsmart two or three supercomputers before lunch.

Media types figured out that sports is one of the few DVR-proof types of programming. So the various sports providers started pricing their rights packages accordingly, and rates skyrocketed as ESPN, Fox, NBC, and CBS bid against each other.

ESPN recouped much of its costs through rights fees paid by cable providers.

Then I hope they make that clear in the show very quickly. Although to be honest, I really don't care much for that angle, either. View the past to help the present? Fine. Aside from that, leave the time travel malarkey out of it.

I'm with you 100%. I hate time travel stories that get too cute for their own good. See my response to worker201.

One of my least favorite genre tropes is time travel. When they first introduced the idea that Bran can affect the past when he called out to young Ned, I was hoping against hope they weren't going there. Now that we've seen it happen with Hodor, I fear the worst.

I hope that the show establishes rules severely

"That's it? A crummy commercial?"

I lived in Clearwater in the late 80s, after Hooters had opened, but before they became a nationwide chain. Because Hooters was so locally popular, there were a bunch of "breastaurant" knockoffs in the area, including Ta-Ta's, Mugs and Jugs, Melons, and, contrary to the video, Knockers.

I guess I'm saying that even 25

And not a positive development, to my mind.

Where are they? Right here! Next time! On Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives!

It's nothing really stylistic. They're all just crazy awkward.

I actually considered that. But most 80s videos contained enough flat-out weirdness that I don't think Squier's video was particularly out of the ordinary in any way that might "out" him. It's just so damn awkward. But that also plagues Separate Ways and Love is a Battlefield. The viewing public is just fickle, I

Seconded. Within the last few years, I realized I don't really "hate" most music. There's just some I like more than others. Steely Dan just recently "clicked" for me, after years of avoiding it.

I could never figure out why the video for Rock Me Tonight destroyed Billy Squier's career, while Journey remained relatively unfazed by the video for Separate Ways. (Pat Benatar's Love is a Battlefield also comes to mind.) Watching the 70s arena rock gods struggle to adapt to MTV was truly painful.

And yet, I really like the contrast in their voices on those transition albums, especially their harmonies.

I've had to swear off watching TCM before work. I've lost count of the times I've had to skip breakfast or ironing my shirt because some Warren William potboiler sucked me in.

It's too bad EMG doesn't have an earring fetish, because she'd certainly have him covered there.

Isn't S.H.I.E.L.D. ostensibly a comic book show? Hard to get the kids invested at 10 p.m.

To paraphrase Cormac McCarthy, it isn't the Friday death spot, but until they move it there, it'll do.

Yipes. It's a good thing they're already filming Star Wars Episode VIII. Assuming they planned for Kylo Ren to make it to Episode IX, they might want to film an alternate ending where he doesn't, just to be on the safe side.

After what happened with Mark Hamill between New Hope and Empire, you'd think Disney would

That's a pretty revealing chart. If Bran (possibly with Sam's help) doesn't pull the equivalent of capturing the golden Snitch (i.e. figuring out what's causing the White Walkers), then all the manpower in the world isn't going to help.
