There was a super interesting movie going on somewhere in the background, but we were busy following the travels of The World's Blandest Protagonist.

Risa?

It was Not Good.

Everything I see looks absolutely great. But then I keep reminding myself of how good the Godzilla previews looked…and who's writing it.

MBMBAM show coming soon!

The first IM score is good. Kinda like the film itself: It set up a template that the rest of the MCU does variations on, albeit watered-down ones.

I haven't seen Birth but I really want to. The knowledge that it has a Desplat score has pushed it even higher up my To Watch list.

The Social Network score is nigh perfect, imo.

I LOVE Desplat. His work on The Tree Of Life is outstanding, but I think GBH is my fave of his scores.

He's very good at pitching his score at exactly the right level for the film. Tomorrowland needs a BIG score to sell the idea of wonder (and, as you said, because its script doesn't bother) so he makes it Williams-esque and epic. But he can equally turn his hand to understated menace (Apes) or light, but meaningful

Tomorrowland is a great score for a very mediocre movie. Giacchino is fast becoming an all timer, imo. His scores for the Apes movies and Inside Out are also very very good.

I love lots of scores, but one that gets a LOT of play in my car is Tom Tykwer's Cloud Atlas score.
Also Spirited Away.

Oh nice! I know MTV news hired some of the writers in an effort to legitimize, but I find that site so hard to take. It's 50% great, well written essays and 50% paparazzi gossip garbage.

Thanks! I wish I had more time to devote to it, but, yknow, work.

God I miss Grantland.

There were some issues in the render whereby some errant frames were inserted, but hey, pobody's nerfect.

I know I should be working on the CZ MegaMix but I couldn't resist taking time out to make this thing

29975 :( You guys all beat me!
