They want these athletes to talk, but only if they talk the right way. There's a certain segment of the population that takes comfort in the platitudes that irritate the rest of us. They like hearing Jeff Dunham and Larry the Cable Guy repeat jokes I've been hearing since grade school. They go to Golden Corral

Started Asimov's Foundation books AGAIN, and AGAIN couldn't figure out how they got to be classics. I also recently abandoned Doc Smith's Lensmen series about halfway through the second book. I WAS enjoying Frederik Pohl's Heechee series, but as yet Amazon doesn't stock beyond the first two on the Kindle library

Watching the Super Bowl for the ads is like going to the doctor for the waiting room. I think I may find those people more annoying than the ones who make sure that everyone they've ever met knows that they don't care about the game.

A paladementum, perhaps? I'm going to call it that because I have already spent far too long searching the Internet for cape terms. Also, as an aside, what is up with the Wikipedia entry for "cape" being edited only 8 days ago? What is going on in the world of capery that necessitates these up to the minute updates?

Coincidence as in the fact that these "physics" you claim to put so much stock in "coincidentally" only affected one team. You can throw around as much obfuscation about motives and unknown variables as you want to distract from the fact that the Patriots, and only the Patriots, were using illegal equipment. The

Really? The SIMPLEST explanation for over 90% non-regulation balls for one team is a coincidence? REALLY?

I would say it's fairly ridiculous to know that nearly all of NE's balls were found to be illegal in their their specifications, know also that all of their opponent's balls were found to be legal in their specifications, look at that information and conclude "Well I can't make heads or tails of this. Guess we'll

And also perfectly explains why none of the Colts' balls experienced similar deflation. Because the Colts are adults who don't have to stoop to an "I'm not touching you!" defense.

This is true.

I just watched all the Yakov Smirnoff episodes of Night Court. They're pretty great.

Why are you trying to convince me that something that is clearly awesome isn't?

…surprising no one.

Yeah but remember Colbert's first show? I remember actually feeling sorry for him and wondering how he was even going to get through the episode, he was stuttering so badly. I thought Wilmore sounded a lot more comfortable by contrast.

I pay $660 for a two bedroom apartment in Iowa City, which is the 3rd cheapest 2 bedroom I've been able to find, the two cheaper ones being notorious shitholes known city-wide for being shitholes. I have not seen the episode, but it sounds like the rents are definitely on the low side.

That's what I THOUGHT you said…

…what?

That's actually common enough I think it has a page on TV Tropes. I don't know what Tropes calls it but me and a friend of mine referred to it as "rape equals love" and could name 5 or 6 movies that featured it.

I hardly even consider VB a comedy anymore, and I don't mean that as a criticism. It's just such a well-crafted show that it doesn't particularly bother me if an episode isn't that funny (although I still think last season was VERY funny, and the season before that was their funniest ever).

"What, am I doing it wrong?"
"No, I just didn't realize until now that John Wayne walks like that."

I can't get sound and pretty much none of the ones I tried worked properly. I guess I'm sticking with DOSBox for the time being.
