This was definitively the best of the “live musicals” that have been done since the Sound of Music kicked this idea off five years ago.  I like John Legend, but his voice doesn’t work with this material - but I’m happy it was staged and if he was necessary to get it on the air then it was worth it.  Certainly there

yes

Ironically, that wasn’t a costume, that’s just what Alice Cooper was wearing when he showed up. :)

Exactly right, the whole aesthetic of JCS was always to show the apostles as “punk” in the pejorative version of the word, kids who would automatically be looked down on by the authorities, which is what Jesus’ followers were, a bunch of twenty something fishermen from a nowhere region who couldn’t possibly understand

Herod is the perfect role for a bit of stunt casting, and while they could have had a better performer play the part (I think Cooper would  have been fine 10 or 15 years ago when he could still sing) it’s still a commercial project and getting Alice Cooper could have drawn some eyeballs to the production that wouldn’t

I’m not sure if they’ll do anything like this, but there’s a clever way to do this without it looking like Han totally gets over on Lando. Han says he won the Falcon from Lando, Chewy indicates that Lando might still be mad at Han - but there’s a way to spin it where Lando needed Han, or wanted Han, to take the Falcon

Andy Richter and Joel McHale have other gigs and are managing to be in this.  It’s only ten episodes and other than the main four characters, I bet nobody else has had more than 1/2 hour of screen time total in each season.  Plus they have no set in stone release date.

It’s where Robin Givens came from - before she married Tyson.

The way he chewed up the scenery as King Ecbert on Vikings was wonderful to watch.  It was the only thing that redeemed the “court intrigue” subplots at all.

I thought it was pretty clear that Max was in love with Carrie and that’s the only reason he sticks around.  They have him look at her longingly at least once and episode.

Suspension of disbelief has just become par for the course on this show.  The National Security Adviser of the United States just drives places all by himself, with no security detail?  Everything Saul has done since he got that position is insane for him to have done personally.

No, I read the whole article, post on this site a lot, and racism is a thing that exists but fortunately is not as prevalent as it once was, which was my point.  By the way, when you say “make it all about racism....again” what is the “it” you are referring to?  Our culture, the country, this article?  If I was making

Is it tragic that a great actor like Lou Gossett, Jr. would stoop to making these increasingly stupid movies, or is it tragic that a great actor like Lou Gossett, Jr. couldn’t get equally great parts because of how horribly racist our country is - or is it a combination of both?

I remember going to see The Right Stuff when I was a kid and it had an intermission. Loved it, about 90 minutes on each side - take a piss, get some more popcorn, refill the flat soda - glorious.

90 minutes of Iron Man, 1 minutes and 3 seconds for everybody else.

Wow, only one other comment! I guess we won’t be getting season 8 reviews - but I digress...

Excactly, Luke could have taken out everyone - but not necessarily before they killed Han. They had to get Han free where he could defend himself (with help) and not get murdered by somebody hitting a button on the carbonite panel.

If her career ended right now it would have been a pretty good one. But really, her movies by and large make money and they make money because of her - Passengers made over $300M worldwide on a $100M budget. Even Joy made over $100M, it just cost $60M I’m guessing due to the cast since there’s really no effects or

I stand by my production value statement!

I’ve got to give Candace Cameron-Bure credit, she has managed to keep her extremist religious beliefs yet still maintain a viable career. Meanwhile her brother is doing voice overs for Evangelical Youtube videos that wish they had the production value of a second rate porno.
