the Saved by the Bell reboot works because the stars are the new kids, not the original crew.  They give Slater et. al. enough to do for old people like me to get some nostalgia, but the show isn’t about them.  This show seems to still be completely about Punky.

But those of us who resemble that remark typically still listen to music from our teens and early twenties, we’re not stuck on the music we liked when we were 8 or 9.  

Or when Joe Pesci or somebody refers to DeNiro as “Bobby.”
