god the first one was 7 years ago! I didn't realize til just now that it came out that long ago..it didn't feel like it came out that long ago. shit that means people who were in elementary school when it came out are now in high school.

he must really like doing springsteen cause he did a springsteen sketch when he last hosted SNL about two years back. (it was also by far the funniest thing on that night too for what its worth)

I'm going by my own reaction to it when I saw it in theaters in ninth grade. I don't think I could've told you shane black wrote it off the top of my head.

i'm not even sure now! i guess i thought there'd be more to the story?

should've taken out the R—just called it Mr. Wong. Bill Pullman could've played Mr. Wong damnit.

why is this a thing in newswire??? i don't mean that to be snarky as i've literally never questioned why a thing was in newswire before—but ellen dengeress's copy of walter mitty ending up online seems like something i could've made up.

there already was a hip hop drama series years back—it aired on upn and starred Sticky Fingaz and Jason George. I can't for the life of me remember the name of it but i remembered watching it—it only ran for like six episodes i think but it was a drama set against the world of hip hop.

so its basically a lower rent version of 300 then?

that's funny the friend who I saw the hobbit asked if I wanted to see I Frankenstein next and I only had to turn to the poster to it (Cause I hadn't seen the ads for it until later on) to realize that the answer to that question was a definitive yes. (and not just a vague yes because i'll literally say yes to seeing

hoboerotic???

I don't ever remember it being Renny Harlin's Mindhunters but we're talking about a movie that featured Christian Slater, Val Kilmer, and a pre NCIS LA LL Cool J that was made in 2004. all three of them were bottoming out so if anything Harlin's just lucky it didn't end up straight to dvd at that time.

I would totally defend Long Kiss Goodnight—-that was a very enjoyable action movie—-I mean ok its not perfect but between sam Jackson's wisecracks and geena davis's shock, horror, gleeful acceptance of what she can do—it was the bourne identity 6 years before the bourne identity and it was better made than the bourne

well I guess I now have the answer to what show abc will be cancelling the neighbors for as this would (sadly) probably make a companion piece to Tim Allen's "Last Man Standing" (only on abc) also I can't imagine this not being shot in front of a live studio audience so that too. (damnit I really like the neighbors)

that's more or less the reason I also still hang onto the vcr I still have (that still works) the one I used in college—its crappy and its starting to slow down (The rewinder is starting to go I can tell—you can tell that because it makes a noise like its going to die when rewinding a tape rather than the standard

I have that movie! its pretty terrible actually but Scheider really was good in anything. there's another movie he was in around the same time (late 80;s) that has yet to turn up on dvd called The Fourth War that he's excellent in.

truthfully the vcrs that were made 25 years ago were of much better material/parts then the stuff the dvd/vcr combos uses to make the same machine today (or of ten years ago)

I own a copy of "drowning by numbers" on tape—I found it for like four bucks at a store that was still selling tapes back in 06!

the blockbuster that used to be by me was phasing out vhs tapes in about 02 or 03. I remember being able to rent "Scotland p.a." on vhs and I think that might have been the last thing I was able to rent on vhs there—and it was already a good year or so since it had been available to rent.

barney miller's on dvd—-season four comes out this month in fact! (I know its not the same—but Shout! just took over the releases from Sony so I actually expect the entire series to be out cause they're pretty good at releasing a series to the end of its run)

a lot of what you said applies to me too. Although I hate to say it but I taped over a lot of the old taped from original broadcast simpsons episodes once I got the dvd sets. I do miss the old movie commercials tho—-the Bart Sold His Soul one (I think it was that one) had a really good Strange Days trailer in the
