Let’s hope they did a better job than Porsche did with their Targa with respect to wind buffeting. How they took the 991 Cabriolet, which has one of the most pleasant high-speed top-down driving experiences ever made, and created the Targa, which, doesn’t, is beyond me.

This is the most rational explanation that I’ve heard. I honestly can’t figure out why the things sound so bad. Maybe it’s just me, but they sound like a broken diesel on the outside and a droning moaning mess from inside.

Ig there was an ‘xDrive4oi’, I could totally get beinrg this and the X1. As it is, they’re 4-cyl only (and the de-powered ‘Awd’ version at that), and BMWs turbo 4s have always sounded about 300 miles away from catastrophic damage. Love the mileage they make, and the power is good too, but I don’t know why they have

Yep, its coming, same V6s as you get in the Range Rovers. ROW also gets 2 diesel 4s, but those aren’t coming here (nor do we really want them).

To all those asking ‘Why in the world would you get the diesel in this?!?’

To all those asking ‘Why in the world would you get the diesel in this?!?’

Also, the taillights are shaped slightly different. The new one, which unfortunately had it’s brake lights on in the picture, has a little jagged bit on the inside, while you can see the white one is smooth all around.

Wait, there’s only 1750 GS460s in the US? Like total? I know they only offered them for a few years, and most people just stick with the V6 in cats like that, but damn. Co-worker has one, its a really pretty pearly-white type color. She didn’t but it on purpose, just likes that it’s a really great car.

Did they really though? Heard them at the IMSA race, and they sounded quite lame, actually. Nowhere near as exotic as the Porsches, which was really odd. I know they aren’t road cars, but everything else (Corvette, M6, 911, R8) had similar sound characteristics to their street going counterparts.

It’s possibly changed, and I know you can apply for special exceptions for special cars and classic cars. I lol’d when I saw an i8 for $999/day, for like 20 miles.

That’s just for my insurance. On the M6, they’re also taking almost $120 more for the customers insurance. So I get $225 for renting the car, but they get $195 for brokerage and insurance. You be your own judge, but to me, it doesn’t quite add up. I still do it, but it’s starting to not add up.

Haha, believe it or not they actually came with the car!

You can set a minimum day amount, but for the higher end stuff a lot of people only want it for one day, because it’s so much money. Like with the M6, its $299/day, but you’ve also got to pay for Turo’s insurance, which is 40% for their premium coverage. It’s a lot of money to be paying, so it really makes people try

I mean, I have, but just because we tried a few times to work it out, and he always had done sketchy excuse for not being able to meet, and he basically wanted it from 11pm-11an on a weeknight, but the day didn’t seen to matter, and it was just weird. It was for the LR4, so I was less concerned, but after a few times

Thanks! Enjoy an extremely gratuitous self-serving picture of me with it at VIR. ;)

Nice! Mine was an S Cab 7MT, and it did pretty well. I had it on for $225/day, but Turo takes a huge cut for their insurance, so I only kept ~$168. Honestly, most of the people that rented it were either people who love Porsches, or wives surprising their husbands (who love Porsches) for anniversary birthdays - no

They don’t allow anything valued At over $75k. The 911 only made it because base models used squeak in under that, and the RR and M6 just barely make it, but no 2yo R8s are down to $75k yet.

You rented a 991 from Budget?!?

Just try Turo instead! I had my 991 on there when I had it, and lent it out to quite a few people. Just instilled the fear of God in them (i.e. Made them think I was going to go back over the car and charge them a tin if anything happened to it) and never had any problems. I have the M6 GC and RR Sport Autobiography

OMG you read this and still, a year later, felt obligated to comment! I’m sure you’ll be happy to know that, at 20k, still not the first issue.
