No giant EVO post this year, I'm afraid. Honestly, I've just been waaaaaay too busy to keep up with all the different scenes. I still catch major top eights here and there, but without a better grasp of the narratives emerging from each community, I'd have a tough time revisiting that well.

To that specific example, I believe all the animals are based off a bunch of prototypes created by the artists. Like a Bethesda game, though, there are underlying stats and sliders that control what they ultimately look like, so the game fiddles with a bunch of knobs behind the scenes to create creatures that are

I LOVE the Miiverse stage. I spotted this lovely pair of posts in my first go at it: "Damian Is Fat" and "Fuck Ness" with Lucas flipping the bird—https://twitter.com/Gerardi…

You'll have to take that up with Mr. Teti, as he is the keeper of the pins.

Then we got a game over at the dungeon's boss, and I got out of there ASAP so I could go play Star Fox.

Nope. Old drums and guitars are supported. You just need some sort of USB dongle to plug into your console. From what I could tell, the only thing different about the new guitars were on the inside, where they replaced the gryo-tech with an accelerometer, which is just a more accurate version of the same tech. That's

It was pretty much an entire song, yeah. He used some developer magic to turn the normal note highway off and solo over the whole song. To be fair, he was just looking me in the eye as one would during a conversation—but he was also playing Rock Band at the same time.

It's an older episodic game. Started on iOS and ported to PC a few months ago. Our review of the first episode is linked toward the top of the essay, but here it is again: http://www.avclub.com/artic…

The review should be up next week. Patrick Lee is on it, and we're letting him take his time.

Speaking of The Witcher 3, we will have a review—eventually. Like most outlets that aren't super-mega-huge, we just got our review copy a few days ago. Mr. Patrick Lee is currently burning his way through it.

From what I've heard from Patrick, yeah, it's A LOT like Mark Of The Ninja.

Because as I've explained elsewhere in the comments, when it comes to a list like this, which isn't a "best of" but a small curated starting point for a larger conversation, we'd much rather highlight and analyze some more unexpected songs. Variety was another reason. There were several songs with goofy lyrics already

You're absolutely right, and I probably came off a little too callous in that post about Portal, for which I apologize. It's not just that we knew it would be discussed in the comments. Those songs have been talked about again and again and again by everyone all over the internet. To us, it just wasn't worth it to

I can see where you're coming from. Let me just say that's absolutely not our intention. We're not waiting for anger of any sort. For those commenters who've been around Gameological for a while, anger in the comments is a relatively foreign concept to begin with. It just generally doesn't come up. The reason why we

I'm admitting that we love our commenting community and enjoy giving them opportunities to show off their ample insight and intelligence in collaborative articles. We've been doing these playlists (the premise of which is laid out very clearly at the top of the article) and other articles like this for quite a while.

Bastion was also a game I banned from our portion of the list because it's been covered to death. But yeah, that song is heartbreaking and wonderful.

Because these articles are meant to be a starting point for further discussion rather than a comprehensive list. We all knew Portal would be the first thing out of plenty of commenters' mouths, so we left it to you.

Thanks for the note. We'll make an alteration to that bit.

They generally just don't fight each other for the exact reasons you're pointing out (unless there's some magical mumbo jumbo going on). The story mode is an actual story, where characters have relationships and history and alliances.

Yeah, it's crazy, but the kast (heh) turned out very diverse and everyone's represented pretty well. The ladies are (relatively) dressed sensibly and there aren't any ridiculous boob physics—which is the saddest thing to praise anything for, but there it is.
