I really like Teslas but I am also a UX designer and WOOF, this is bad. You hit the nail on the head with your points: lack of labeling, small size with no information scent to give you an idea of where to find this, no current mode info. The lack of a park mode is the most distressing, does it do it automatically? If

No, man, this isn’t a piece shitting on the Richest Man In The World, this is a piece shitting upon some really awful UX decisions. Sad is not being able to deal with actual valid critiques of technology without feeling like it’s an attack on Elon Musk, who I suspect will weather this onslaught just fine.

You might be able to replace the corpse finger/toe with a wad of ham”

In her case, AutoPilot probably saves a life or two every time she gets behind the wheel.

Does Tesla’s Autopilot recognize other vehicle’s turn signals? Legitimately asking, because that can make a huge difference.
But this is absolutely the system not performing anything life saving imo. Honestly, I probably would have taken over prior to the split to ensure the car went where I wanted and then re-engage.

How is it attacking individuality? DO you think that being trans is some new 21st century thing? The only people forcing conformity are the ones telling trans people to just get over being mis-gendered. Why shouldn’t trans people be recognized? You seem pretty bigoted towards trans folks, bud.

Fun article, but I feel like the problem is anyone who needs convincing isn’t going to be convinced by any kind of reason. They are having an emotional reaction to something that isn’t about them, and it’s very hard to change that with any sort of discussion.

That last section, “It’s also more inclusive” is precisely the problem, of course. Conservatives don’t want to include people they don’t approve of...

My guess is they are offended by your awful attitude, not which pronoun you picked. I screw up all the time (I’m an old working with a university) no one has ever done anything worse than politely tell me what they prefer and then I adopt their preferred word.

Lol. It doesn’t remove anything. People have been using they as a singular pronoun for hundreds of years.

When talking directly to an individual, you say “you are”, not “you is”. Using “are” for a single person is already common usage.

“They” is already standard grammar for singular people in situations where the party is unknown.

There are all sorts of gender-neutral pronouns people have made up because they don’t like singular ‘they’—e.g. ey/em/eir, ve/ver/vis, xe/xem/xyr, etc.—and like ‘Latinx’ they all look stupid and are even more awkward to say than the alternative.

And in particular, what verb tense do you use??? If talking about a non-binary person, do I say “They IS a Capricorn,” or “They ARE a Capricorn?”

I use they/them frequently and have never had to clarify. Usually the context around it make it pretty obvious.

I have “grammar snob” tendencies. I am a fan of the Oxford comma. I think that “figuratively” and “literally” mean different things.

I’ve been using this since college in the US in the late 80's. I don’t understand what the big deal is. Back then it had nothing to do with being “woke” or inclusion—it was just easier.

Fuck, son. Gen X too. Saving is something only Boomers got to do.

If your 401k balance is only $200K at 60-69, you can kiss the idea of retirement goodbye.
