If you are speaking to someone in a context where either one of those meanings could be considered correct, you should use a different word. Choosing an ambiguous word, and expecting your listeners to magically read your mind and know what you mean, is a problem with you, not them.

It’s like...the entire point of language is to convey meaning. If the words you choose are “technically correct” but don’t convey the meaning you intend to your audience, you need to choose different words. Simple as that.

If a person is too dumb to not know what ‘autopilot’ is, when the term has been used for 80+ years, that’s on them. not Tesla.

How many actual safety or functional deficiency related recalls or updates has Tesla had?

“So close to being nice.”

“If they were charging for a safety upgrade, I’d find that troubling.”

Just look at what Apple did with the iPhone. “Your battery is losing capacity with age, and can’t provide peak current anymore. We’re going to reduce your phone/vehicle performance to ensure that it works the way we think you want it to work.”

People are tough on Elon and Tesla because vehicles need to be safe, and his approach of “we’ll fix it with an OTA” is not safe. A car should not require an OTA update to improve the brakes because the brakes should have been tested and optimized before even a single unit was shipped to a customer.

I think they start to grow on you over time. It’s certainly different from anything else on the road, but it’s insanely efficient, surprisingly spacious inside, and maybe the easiest car to park after a Smart Car.

BMW i3.

1967 Mini, a gift from my dad for their anniversary. She still drives it regularly.

2.8-liter electric motor, duh.

At what point does it become an SEC violation to repeatedly make claims that you should know your company cannot meet, in an effort to get new investors?

ME TOO! So many people think its weird to use “aggressive” in a non-negative way, but I find it hilarious and wonderful. I’ve often described a particular friend as “aggressively optimistic.”

“Give them 12-16 months and you’ll see it turn around.”

This is how I feel about my BMW i3.

Capital One keeps increasing mine, it’s now at 1.3% and I’m giddy about it. My interest is earning interest?! What madness is this?!

I opened a money market account with Capital One last January, and was thrilled with the 1.0% they were offering. For a young adult used to receiving 0.03% from my local credit union, the idea of 2% interest rates is beyond amazing.

Maybe so, but even if that’s the case, Jordan may actually prefer gender-neutral terms like “they” over “he” or “she.”

A not-either-of-the-two-standard-options abnormality is, by definition, making it a non-binary. Doesn’t matter how uncommon it is, the fact that there are more than two possible outcomes makes it a non-binary.
