Can a parent company rip off their child company? Is that possible?

But without any of the cool associated with owning an Audi.
Canada. FUCK YES.
You don’t find that the need to pay attention to the story distracts you from your housework, or vice-versa?
I really love listening to podcasts at home, while cleaning or cooking. You’ve got me considering ebooks as well now. Do you ever listen to them in similar situations?
I think that Porsche’s blue is much closer to BMW’s Yas Marina than anything they offer on their non-M cars.
My ex and I started officially dating at the end of January a few years back, and we just did a nicer-than-average dinner for Valentine’s Day. We’d known each other a few months, we were definitely a couple, but not to the point of the “L word.” It seemed like a nice “nothing too loaded” compromise.
Yes! This is so true, and I think it was neatly summed up in a quote I heard a few years ago, which was something like “Facebook isn’t realistic. It just makes us feel worse, because it crops out all of the sadness in life.” All you see are the happier moments, and you start to feel left out. We need a social network…
I’ve found that this type of mindset can be really, incredibly helpful for/as someone who is learning to manage their depressive tendencies, or even just someone who feels caught in the rat race. As someone who was frequently left thinking a general sense of “I want more,” learning to change my perspective to look at…
I would be VERY careful when looking at TVs that claim to support HDR. I purchased a Sony X700 this past weekend, which claims to be HDR, but the contrast ratio was atrocious - according to RTINGS it’s something like 1000:1. Traded that in for a 49" Samsung KS8000 model which also says HDR and actually looks the part…

LG probably figures the market is too small and it wouldn’t be worthwhile. I’m guessing that most people who buy OLED are buying it for a home theater setup, and they would be buying a large TV for such an arrangement anyway. LG probably thinks that too, and doesn’t see a large enough market for a 49" to justify the…

Is the Chromecast plugged into the Vizio powered from the Vizio (like the Chromecast in the Westinghouse)? I found that when my Chromecast (first-gen) was powered by my Sony TV, I had to turn on the TV first, but once I switched the Chromecast to a wall outlet for power, it was always visible and could turn on the TV.…
Woke up this morning and thought “Wow, the pinks and oranges of the sunrise are really pretty. I honestly wonder how many more of those I’ll see, or if they’ll be replaced by mushroom clouds.” Today is just my day to be resigned to “Jesus, this is really happening. It feels so awful.”
This is the upside I see to the GOP controlling everything - when it all goes to hell, they will have nobody to blame. No opposition party controlling the Senate or the House, no President to pin the blame on. It will be 100% GOP failure. Hopefully people start to see them for what they are when that happens.
Not all phones need to be updated continuously. If it works, just release security updates and leave it on the original or one newer version of the OS. Otherwise you get stuck with things like my iPad 3 running incredibly slowly on iOS 9, just so Apple could brag about their iOS 9 adoption rate.
So what? Just because some company does a given thing doesn’t mean the competition does too. Just look at how Apple devices run using their last-support iOS version and you’ll see why updates for the sake of updates are a bad idea - they run slower than molasses in January, making the device practically unusable, but…
Why is it unacceptable? There are plenty of things we as consumers buy knowing that they’re going to forever stay as-is, no updates at all, so why is that unacceptable for phones? Why do we feel entitled to the latest OS version, stability and user-experience be damned? Is it so awful for a company to say “You know,…
Oh, I like this idea. I’ll add that to my list as well.
Ha, good to know. I’ll see what I can find.
I’ll add it to my list. I’ve actually found my own blend of life philosophy, developed over several years in college, but I see so many of my friends struggling to find meaning and an overarching picture of what they want their lives to be... I grudgingly think we need some form of pop culture answer to it.
